Agreed; they are turning themselves around. look at thier line up of games recently and tell me you didn't respect EA for the effort they put into them: Dead Space, Mirrors Edge, Spore, Burnout Paradise and Skate 2.
Mirror's Edge and Spore? Are you kidding me?

Burnout Paradise - meh.

Skate 2 - meh.

Only Dead Space caught my eye.

On the other hand, look at 895189257129 add-ons to Sims 2, too early release of Warhammer Online and of course, MORE AND MORE Tomb Raiders, NHLs, FIFAs (even if every next PES game is better) without improving anything. Graphics don't count, and even if they did, it's a poor improvement.
I`m pretty sure the tomb raider come under eidos

Well EA kinda died when it started making Fifa games, since then its just been a braindead zombie doing the same shait over and over again with better graphs.
lets face it, sport games sucks! if you want sport, you join a gym or somthing! you don't play em' on you console! instead, give me a juicy FPS or a challanging RPG, then I will stop bitching about EA

EA have taken quite big risks recently, as they've invested in several new IPs which have been somewhat original, and their latest games haven't been rehashes. Mirror's Edge, Dead Space, and particularly Henry Hatsworth are all new and unique brands. Henry Hatsworth is a very charming game, recieving a good critical reception by gamers. EA have become a valuable company in the industry, and your argument is 3 years outdated.

I don't know I think EA have gotten a lot better, they backed Dead space and Mirror's edge last year, both new ips one also being a bit of a risk.
I say give them a break.
And they were able to take those risks by "selling people the same games every year". And to that I say WELL DONE EA WELL DONE. Way to carve yourself a niche in the market then use it to expand that niche.

My question is when will these stupid I HATE EA threads die? Or at least have a valid reason like EA killed my favorite pet (with indisputable proof)

I agree. They really are starting to make some interesting games. Wonder if they'll keep it up in the future.

Really? My bad. Eidos are the good guys (well, if we ignore Lara for a moment and remember classics...).

My point stands - crappy sport games every single year without improving anything.

Warhammer Online.

4 cities cut off, no ETA on when they are coming back. Probably never.

4 classes added almost half a year later, after the beta. They could implement them at the release, which would help counter the balance issues (like how Dark Elves had no tanks, yet High Elves had - same goes for Empire vs Chaos), but EA made them rush things and release the game without working on it to make sure everything is there as it should be.

Because if you put a big enough pair of tits or a release a cool enough trailer every one will buy it.
YEAH, WHAT HE SAID!!

and I also like most of their games, some upgrades make the expierience fresh, and since sports games are usually replayable, one may want to do that. I mean, speaking of their sports games, if you were playing one, you would want to play with current players, not the same people who were around when the franchise started; and updates would be too huge for all that information, so one may just releace a sequel.

In my experience its EA Sports that sucks... the rest of their catalogue is fine with me, and if I want to play (virtual) football, its gonna be ProEvo....

When will these threads die?

Answer for both NEVER... as long as people want sport games and to moan about sport games these two things will last forever.

Because alot of people in the over-populated world do not do their research before buying a game or haven't experienced the quality of a great game and buy it regardless if it's good or not. However, I have noticed alot of young gamers have been trading in alot of crap games to get the new ones out!

if ea fixed the bugs quicker and quality control improved they would never die but as for some games that just get tweaked and don't get proper redoing look at their racing games especially nascar , stop controling pit stops , better damage rendering and sound , and the pit thing is not letting me control my pit entry and exit pit stops are part of racing also release every two years or so they can perfect the games

EA rule for making a game where you can strategially amputate limbs and fight a giant asshole that shoots its poos at you.

They'll stop the same time Halo stops being mediocre, the same time Final Fantasy makes a unique game, the same time Nintendo quits marketing to your mom, grandma, or your children, and the same time the game industry as a whole gets over this controversy sells kick.
