There wasn't a scottish accent in SR2
Well so I got the accent wrong. It is late, it has been some time since I played the game and I have played many others since but none the less whatever voice it was it was pretty sweet.
No need to get so defensive deary i was just saying :p
eh not defensive, just acceptance with an excuse

especially in Saints Row 2 ( I finished with a fat guy with a strong Scottish accent wearing bermuda shorts, a tank top, some weird hat and a small pink camo backpack.)
Since when did Saints Row 2 have Scottish accents? Was it DLC?
about the time my tired brain was recalling the info.

Any time I TRY to make a character that looks like me I inevitably get something that looks disconcertingly close to Micky Ward, a retired American boxer. Given that I look nothing like Mikey ward, I can only assume this is a sign that I subconciously wish I did.

SR2 is the only game where I made a ridiculous character. As in a morbidly obese black man with a cockney accent that liked to go on a crime spree wearing ladies clothes... good times.

But in Mass Effect, Oblivion, and more recently in DA:O I make my chars look as suave as I can. In Mass Effect I made a char that actually looked startingly like me, and in DO:A I somehow made a human that looks like Adrian Brody.

I have also made an army of really, really hot chicks with games like this though. One of every shape size and color. SR2 is the best for that, especially with the clothing options... who knew that playing Barbie woulf be so fun?

it doesn't really phase me, im happy to roll with whatever, as long as it looks presentable, i'd like to find more games where customized tattoo's are factored in but, oh well.

I normally start with trying to design a character that vaguely looks like me if possible.

After finishing with them, I might try a different gendered character for the gameplay differences that come with that.

Later on, I'll get into making joke characters. On Fallout 3, for example, I made a character who had a heavy emphasis on the Unarmed skill. His name? Mike Tyson. And yes, I made him look just like him. By then, I knew what I was doing with the character creation kit, even though the light on the face when you're making your character at game start is atrocious.

It's normally how I want to look.

By that I mean my features, only slightly manlier. Me in 10 years say, with lots of stubble.
This, basically.. I generally create your stereotypical 'hero' type. Muscles, chiseled jaw.. etc.

Normally I take a preset and tweak it a bit, sometimes attempting to make it look a bit like me.

Then there are times when I want to make a goofy lookin dude and end up with something like:

I tend to go with a preset (so it is proportion) and then change hair, color tone etc.
and my names are usually all Zedd Zeddica Zeddix etc because I am so damn original.

Go with whatever mood im in.

For example, in saints row 2 i play as in my own words: "HAZMAT MAN." hes a british accented super-hero who hits people with packs of C4 for a living, with a gang of dancing SWAT chappies

Hmmm, in the limited games where you actually have the option of making a character your own, I like to let it start out pretty blank and roll with the story. I find it quite shocking that I got more of a Role Play factor out of Saints Row 2 than I have done with any JRPG

I normally try to make a guy that looks like me. Closest I ever got was fallout three and some wrestling games.

Lesse, other than myself, I generally screw around with the settings until I like the look.(Like my good guy in Mass Effect, a buzz cut asian dude with a big scar, a disgruntled look and Lemmy Kilmeisters facial hair)

I always try to make the female characters attractive, except for that one time in oblivion where I wanted her to look like a coke whore.

I try to make mine look like Pale, crazed, insomniac ridden murderers.
Weirdest I made was apparently my Mass Efect character, my brother said he looked like he had a large square head, perfectly square.

I try to make the coolest looking character I can, it helps immersion when I really like the character.

I always take whatever the basic face is. Sliders take WAY too long to fiddle with. Occaisionally I suppose I might actually make my character partake in a different ethnic background from my own, but that is seriously as far as I bother.
