I try to make someone who looks like me... so I end up creating a girl character half the time.

I put effort into my characters. Probably not to the point that I can say it's loving detail, but I try to make them look nice.

Found this photo a little while back, every-one of my characters has to look like him, I just can't help it, even if I make a caucasian guy it always ends up with that downturned nose and those squinty eyes with the wrinkles. . .

Every fucking one

I usually do two, three, or a various number of walkthroughs for most games. The first time I'll make a female characters that looks like me and then I'll make a male character. I make the male characters appearance up as I go along.

My Fallout 3 character is a chinese female who is a total *****. With some sunglasses and the Tunnel Snake outfite, it suits perfectly.

First playthrough I usually model the character on myself and roleplay as myself.
All subsequent playthroughs I tend to create a look that I think suits the character's class.

Sometimes I try and make them look a bit like me, sometimes I make them completely random and other times I try and make them look like film/game characters.
My SR2 character currently looks like The Joker from Batman: AA and my Fallout 3 character looks like Wolverine from X-Men: Origins, but only in hair.

I usually make my avatar look just like me, if possible. If not, I find something that suits the way my character will be acting (evil characters have big scars, scowl, and are usually bald. Good Characters are rugged and handsome, and neutral characters are hooded and enigmatic)

Yeah i tend to put waaayyy too much effort into my charecter to the point where i had designed the general looks , personality and traits of 3 fallout 3 charecters before i got the game [ and then used the traits skills and personality of one of those charecters in Fallout [ 1 ] and oblivion [ which i already had ] 'cause he was so fucking awsome] Generally i spend a lot of time on charecter creation screens and then off them thinking of charecters , apart from mass effect , I was kinda dissapointed by mass effect :/ I mean i made a charecter and then wanted to make a sorta similar but noticably different evil version of him, So it was basically the same guy, with red hair and a tash, who killed people in conversations a lot.

I play female characters (because why would I want to stare at a dude for hours on end o_O) so I make them as attractive as possible.
I've heard this before somewhere. A youtube video, probably.

Anyway, I can't argue with your logic anyway and i'm pretty much the same.

I change their features to make them look as much Like Kylar Stern from the Night Angel trilogy as possible, and always name him Kylar Stern.

I always make female characters, looking as cute, tiny and thin as possible... usually with a strong class like warrior, berserker, barbarian, whatever.

If I can be bothered (and don't just accept the pre-gen character/hit 'randomise' and go with it) I try and make the daftest-looking character I can. Then I give him/her a childish name, which always seems hilarious at the time.

I always do something different. I never try to make someone who looks like me, because I'm me everyday, in real life. I want to be someone else when I play games. I'm a real escapist.

I'll sometimes make them really ugly to start off with, then hit random until I find something pretty decent and tweak it so I like the look of it. He (because I feel weird playing as a woman) normally ends up looking a bit Tyler Durden.
