London for the possibility of irradiated geezers and the replacement of Nuka-Colas with Geiger-Guiness or something. Also it might stretch enough to include a little Brighton if it was a massive map and everyone loves slaying supermutants on the street that they live on. From an objective point of view I have to say China or something, it would be interesting to see the Fallout world from the eyes of an ally but even fascinating to see it from the eyes of the enemy.

Everyone seems to be forgetting the commonwealth, which is still strong and present in Canada as stated in Fallout 3. Thus if the common wealth is around so is the UK.

BTW don't mean to spoil the party but this thread has already been done...
Oh, I tried searching but no results came up, likely was just my internet playing up.

I don't mind even if it doesn't make any sense: Scandinavia.

I know I may be getting ahead of my self here, as New Vegas still isn?t out in many areas (including here). But I was playing Fallout 2 again today and thought to myself ?I wonder what?s happening in the rest of the world?.

I don?t know if it would be a good idea to focus on another country, as perhaps the sense of isolation adds to the atmosphere. But then again GTA London was pretty good.

I also thought it would be a good idea to ask when you would like it to be set. Mostly because I think it would be nice to see Harold again, before he became a tree.
fallout is about and will STILL be about America. the rest of the world is BORING because FEV didn't reach those areas. no mutants, just raiders and that will BORE anyone. a raider-only fallout game would ended up being called "fallout: super retarded easy edition"
Damn, I didn't think this out too well. Did I?
I suppose they could come out with some contrived story about one of the Master's Soldiers escaping the country with a sample of the virus, intending to evolve all of the human race.
His first stop could be Austrilia, everyones favourite idea.

As long as Bethesda doesn't have anything to do with it I don't really mind. What made the first (real) Fallout titles interesting was in part all the different cities that all dealt with the apocalypse in their own way, and they'd progress differently depending on the choices you made.

So, no Bethesda and not in just one city. Canada seems like a viable choice.

the virus vats were destroyed in fallout 1 and is now unable to create intelligent mutants, and the master's army west east then dispersed. they couldn't escape the nation because things didn't get rebuilt until fallout 2, but it was already too late by then because the virus is gone.
BORING! Super Mutants are least interesting part of fallout, anyhow the secretive Commonwealth which is set up to have tech that is superior to the Enclave could have come across a FEV samaple as they have the odd operation in the USA.

I'd like to see Detroit as well or the Great Lakes region anyways. Could have some interesting tie-ins with Project Purity and we'd have some interaction with the Commonwealth. Maybe a storyline about choosing whether to give locals jurisdiction over the water (distributing it freely) some rewards and good karma or selling it to the Commonwealth for some sweet rewards and neg karma, thus establishing their hegemony over the area.

America and China make the most sense. I'd say NYC would be an obvious guess.

I'd like to see it in the whole Northeast. A game set in the whole area of New England. That'd be cool. Newport to Biddeford.

In California. I'd simply die laughing when I hear some Enclave supporting NPC blame the nuclear apolcalypse on legalizing gay marriage.

Imagine if it was set in Africa...
The whole game would then be set in a technologically superior africa.

How about Miami? I think a destroyed tropical setting would be interesting, with dead beaches surrounded by abandoned resort hotels and a decent business sector away from the shore. I think the potential for beautifully destroyed scenery screams to be made. Plus, RAD-ALLIGATORS.

Why not have other types of virus created by the rest of the world govenments?
I personally would love to see a post apocalyptic London maybe whole new types of mutants with monocoles and top hats, the london under ground populated by super hobos with shotguns and the tower of london being a dropping off point for aliens.
