It will probably be set in Desmond time but the one I want is Roman. To be able to assasinate famous roman figures and to have their sweet buildings to climb. I would also like it to be set in Norway with the viking time but I could not see Desmond climbing over small wooden huts held together by sticks, mud and cow poo.

I think post American civil could work quite well, the excuse could be they're finding an ancestor with the best gun skills for Desmond.

You'd have the Assassin's blades for quiet work. Two revolvers on your belt, these would be loud with limited ammo but eventually become really good for clearing big groups of enemies. You'd get a rifle or shotgun slung over your back (a choice between long range versus close heavy power). You'd also have a melee weapon ranging from sabres, bowie knives and tomahawks.

The Assassin would wear a white great coat over his clothes and wear a white hat (these you could just change like in AC2).

The cities could be an early New York (in role of Florence in AC2), you could climb building without them being too tall. The last city could be New Orleans (fulfilling the Venice role) and the two smaller towns could be Dodge City and Tombstone (for the cliches).

Imagine running alongside the rooftops of a ramshackle western town as guards on the ground fire lever action rifles. You leap across a gap, on to some hanging scaffolding, pivoting as it rocks through the air and firing two pistols back at them.

Honestly, I don't think Assassin's Creed 3 should go to another timeframe per se, but use the elements of the first two games to create a Dollhouse-esque schizophrenia setting. Desmond, using the skills absorbed from Altair and Ezio, must battle the Templars in the real world, a GTA IV/Prototype-esque setting, while at the same time also giving into hallucinations that would allow the player to play various missions from Altair or Ezio's time.

It'd certainly be more interesting than setting it in either of the World Wars, and there could be some appropriately bizarre twists where he melds one with real life - i.e. infiltrating an office and suddenly it turns into catacombs.

Based on the plot so far...it's gonna be in the future. o-o

Seriously. I mean I guess this is supposed to be a "Where do you think it SHOULD be" rather than where it WILL be.

But yeah...future. Desmond, the whiny *****, learned everything he could from the first and second games, and will execute all that goodness in the third...with rocket launchers and miniguns and plasma blades hidden in his nipples.

I'd say the during the Industrial Revolution in England then migrate to America or something. Because those two places where huge places during the Industrial Revolution.
I had some ideas but...well, the british industral revolution would be amazing, as would 'wild west' America. Far superior to what few ideas I had floating around.

I am somewhat expecting it to focus more on Desmond and the future timeline, however that will kill a lot of the appeal as the a huge reason the games are so popular is because they allow us to explore historicially significant cities during historicially significant times. I can't see the near future setting being anywhere near as breathtaking.

The last interview I read said it can go anyway but it probably won't be Desmond's time.

I'm hoping it's more recent than AC2. Regardless I think the main character should be female, since we've seen that there are female assassins and Desmond obviously has female ancestors.
Probably? Son, let me tell you how the whole desendent thing works...
Say whuh? Unless you mean obviously Desmond's going to be in it...

I hope it's set in loads of different places. So one mission you'll be sneaking up to Stalin to kill him, Next you'll be fighting samurais in Japan.

That would be Best Game Ever.

2012! Lol jk, but in all seriousness i think it should be set in the revolutionary war, maybe sneak up and assassinate some war generals or someone who has plans for a battle.
Actually, Astbergo(or something) in Assassin's Creed do start 2012, It was on Desmond's wall in his room in the first game, they will launch a satellite to control peoples minds, they think its humanities new beginning but they kill all who oppose, so essentially they are supposed to start 2012. The developers even said that Assassin's Creed is a trilogy, so I would say the next one will be based in the present with Desmond and probably a few hallucinations of Altair and Ezio

On the contrary, if you think of what there could be in the future that would seem appealing, rather than only those appealing to you from the past, then you might be more interested in such a subject for AC3. Some examples can include huge futuristic laser-based weapons, mega-skyscrapers you can't see the ground from, and:

The racey 80's, where Glam Metal was king and people jerked off to tight spandex.

Ahhhh. I see. I put probably but then figured people might not get the fact that I was being sarcastic.
