Hawaii.

Seriously. The more you think about it, the more sense it makes.

Pearl Harbor military base?
Volcano?
DLC Islands?
Giant mutant sharks?

ANYWHERE SO LONG AS IT'S NOT OUTSIDE AMERICA.
Exactly, my good chap.
Why not outside the USA?

It's pretty weird how all these worldwide apocalypses only seem to take place in that one country. Or any adventures after them at least.

Actually I would like it placed outside US for once, like somewhere in Europe. The game lore barely talks about outside the US and China, and all we know is we hit China with tons of bombs and a few invasions I think... I guess... cant remember. All I can remember about Europe is they've been fighting with the US for its oil embargo before the bombs dropped, although armed conflict I can't remember. Maybe. Perhaps the place has suffered from harsh winter and its basically a barren land now... no super mutants though unless they went and built boats made out of human bones... oh hey I can imagine that.

If it must be in the US, well maybe Florida. Just think about it.
Fallout: Vice City... Wasteland.
...sorry, just had it stuck on my head seeing wastelanders and ghouls with swimsuits getting tanned in the beautiful radioactive beaches of sunny Miami.

Another one is maybe New York, although it has to be a frozen wasteland by now.

...maybe they will go tropical and go to South America?

Because only America had Vaults. And if Tenpenny is anything to go by, Britain is seriously screwed up.

Although, after Mothership Zeta, I wouldn't put it past Bethesda.

Admittedly the Vaults are interesting, but a dystopian Britain is yet to be explored properly in the gaming world.

I don't see why they couldn't add in other countries having secret vaults or something.

I just said they most likely will do.

London could work.

Because there aren't any mutants outside the US? Sure there'd be a few in Canada but thats part of the USA.

Hows about Detroit, Michigan? maybe being right next to Canada could offer some interesting factors in the story and in the game play. For instance:

Canada didnt want to get mixed in to all the stuff USA got itself into and so they blockaded the border and wouldnt let americans in. Fast forward to the time of game play and you have a barrier. Rememeber how in fallout 3 how the mall was closed off by debris from the city and you could only get in through a subway tunnel?

Maybe.

But I prefer my idea, Rural Ireland!

Defeat the mutant hordes of Donegal!
Destroy the Cavan raiders!
Fear the Kilkenny Ghouls!
I may be a Brit, but even I prefer the idea of Ireland. That would be the single most perfect place I could think of for any post apocalptic game. Second place goes to Scotland, but mainly for Edinburgh Castle.

The US invaded Canada shortly before the war so they wouldn't really be in a position to set up a blockade would they?

Cool idea, but in the Fallout universe, just before the bombs were dropped, the US annexed Canada.

I completely agree, i'd personally love to see fallout: Europe or Asia. I know america were supposed to have all the vaults, but seriously, do you really believe that the rest of the world couldn't see where the war was going and have made shelters?

I was thinking this, then thought "I'll check if i've been ninja'd"

First comment: Ninja'd.

I agree and like your style.

Well, I'd like to see other countries. Though probably that would take the Vaults away from the game.

Sorry if my Fallout backstory is a little rusty, but was there any kind of damage in China? That's where the bombs came from, right?
For all we know, America might be the only nation left with living people or it might be the only nation to be turned into a nuclear wasteland

I'm thinking out by the pacific coast, other side of the country. Oh, and no offense, but they'll never make a standalone Fallout game based outside of America.

For all we know, it might not be. From other people's answers, it seems we're not really sure of what happened on other countries. It would be an interesting change of setting.

But, they'll probably keep it in an English-speaking country anyway.
