I don't remember because I didn't care then and I still don't care now. My sympathies to the families of the victems but the US just milked that story so much. It is still used by people today, it was like 10 years ago or something.

I don't remember, I didn't hear about it until about a year later.

I remember my dad said he watched it on the news for two weeks, and never saw the sequel.

I was still young and barely knew English, so i was confused at what everyone was gasping about in my class.

i was in high school. i heard that a plane crashed into the world trade center. i envisioned the following scenario:

a man is sipping coffee while staring out a window at the WTC. he watches as a small cessna flies straight toward him. unperturbed, he finishes his coffee as the cessna hits the side of the building, crumples like a tin can, and falls to the street below. the window is barely scratched. "wait 'til i tell the boys about this!" he thinks to himself as he heads back to his desk, empty mug in hand.

it wasn't until i got home that day that i discovered the true extent of the tragedy. later i went to the dentist.
I visited NYC a few times before the attack and even saw the WTC first hand. When I first heard about the attack I just assumed there would be a small wrecked plane and some damage to a couple of floors near the top.

What does it matter what you're doing at the time as long as you weren't on the plane, in the building or within eyeshot of the attack.

I have no idea. All I remember is feeling really worried 'cos my dad was supposed to be coming home form a business trip to the States.
I don't think he was in New York, but I didn't know that!

EDIT: He was in Boston. He heard the news driving home from the airport. At first he thought he was listening to a radio play, until he realised the news should be on...

(sorry, since I didn't remember, I thought I should tell someone's story.)

I was at my friend playing video games and his mom came in and said that we should watch the TV.

Went *Oh...* Went back to play games. At that age I didn't care about things going outside Sweden.
