I want a Great Dane because they're big dogs and they're friendly.
Depends on training that... they're usually considered one of the finest guard dogs.

Anyway, I had an awesome male Great Schnauzer a long time ago, loved it to bits for a long time, but sadly he passed away :(

I took care of a small Rottweiler for a while, was cute as hell as a puppy, but it was just until we could find it a home (found it on the street). I also played a lot, when I was a kid, with a female German Shepherd, walked it loads after school, but she wasn't mine... my cousin had one too, they're one of my favourite races for sure.

Anyway personally, not sure... too many awesome races. I'd definitely go for one of the big dogs (even though I'd take it as a puppy to enjoy the cute years :p ). A Schnauzer would remind me too much of my old dog, so I'd probably go for a Rottweiler, German Shepherd, Husky, Labrador or something similar.

I'm on my second Scottish Terrier, Buddy. Besides, is there anything cuter than a 7 week old Scottie? I think not:

Here he is now, at just under 2 years old:

When I was a kid, we had a whippet, but she ran into the side of a lorry, which was not a great plan.

My wife currently has a fox terrier, and her mum has a pomeranian who's delightful but, I kid you not, the stupidest thing on four legs.

My own preference is for larger dogs; Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Dobermanns, Rottweilers, Great Danes, Labradors, German Shepherds, Belgian Shepherds and so on.

Here they are:

I've heard that they're extremely common in Sweden. Can anyone confirm that?

my friend has a chiauau-shiba inu mix, and it looks retarded. It's heads too small for it's body. And about 2 weeks ago he bought a husky puppy. When he takes them out people ignore his first dog and drool over the cuteness of his husky. The Chiauau HATES the husky, it's soooo jealous.

I've had (and currently have) everything from an Iggy to a Borzoi in my time, and I've always been of the opinion that the only good dog is one that's nowhere near me.

I had a mutt who was a mix of Greyhound and black Lab. She was the greatest dog ever. However, now we have two Boxers.

Used to have a shih tzu. Friendly dog, but mostly just sat around sleeping all day. Then again, she was really old (15 years). Had to have her put down due to cancer.

Currently have a miniature schnauzer. She likes to chase after snow, goes ballistic at the mere mention of squirrels, and thinks that the whole world is her personal headrest.

I would like to have a newfoundland. I like big dogs.

I have a pure breed boxer named Amber.
She's fills your head with awesome when you look at her.
Boxers are indeed awesome! Mine is sitting next to me wagging whilst I type. And now she's barking. OK, outside time, Lily!
Yes, they are awesome. I had a boxer when I was younger, until my parents gave her away. Made me sad. I also had a Jack Russell terrier and a Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix, but they passed away a few years ago. That also made me sad.

I used to have a Border Collie called Tess, but sadly we had to put it down a few weeks ago becuase it was suffering from cancer, I believe my family did the right thing becuase the poor thing wasn't hardly walking and kept collapsing when it did try to walk.

I'm hoping to get another Border Collie because I love those dogs. This time I'm going to buy a puupy because I got Tess when she was about 5 or 6 years old.
