Probably Counter Strike, I was playing Call of Duty yesterday and I noticed a problem. If you get yourself into a really good position where you kill lots of enemies and one person notices this. When he comes to kill you he goes the path where he will die, now when he re spawns instead of thinking of a new path he just keeps running in the path where he dies, theres is no skill it was just throwing copious amounts of bodies at someone.

So counter strike because you can't keep throwing bodies and bodies at someone until they die.

What I said was the UMP is the most overpowered gun.
I had written a whole wall to text but thought this reply would elaborate my point quite well.
You admit there is a best gun.
Therefore you admit the game is imbalanced.
Having a best gun means that skill is nullified to an extent.

You claimed no FPS requires more skill than another. Clearly you are wrong as some games are balanced meaning you cannot rely on the power of a gun to help you win.
Plus go play Shattered Horizon as you blatantly have no idea what you are talking about.
There's also a best gun in CS. The AWP.

Just shot your own argument in the foot there. Let's hope it wasn't with an AWP.
there is no best gun, because whatever gun you use, someone can use another gun,or the same gun better then you.

They all demand a skill of some sort. Everything we do demands skill of some sort.
The learning curve for other games might be lower than others but you can become master in all of them and be a noob in all of them.

Like they say in WoW, "Everyone can play a hunter, but being a good hunter is a different matter."

Battlefield BC2. It takes skill to work properly with your teammates, and everyone knows that teamwork is the key to succes in Battlefield
If you don't lag out first... -,-
You know, I never really had any problems with lag in BF:BC2, is it really that bad?

Bad Company is really more about tactics, strategies and controlling situations than about any kind of "Skill"

My best scoring games have revolved around reviving downed team mates and fixing tanks rather than killing.

I used to play CS when I was young and remember that taking me a very long time to get to grips with it, maybe I'm bad but that took some skill to play. Halo also takes skill IMO.

Battlefield 2 is horrible. Worst hit detection in any game I've ever seen.
That's because Battlefield has bullet drop.

I believe Arma takes a little bit of skill, I can't think of any other game at the moment that hasn't been stated.
It does?! Thought it was only in BFBC2 !(looks back at missed shots)

Tf2 is one of the easiest fps's I've played. CS:S is a game where you actually have to AIM FOR THE HEAD.

INB4 "Halo, Nyuk Nyuk Nyuk."

TO be honest though, most FPS's play the same in my opinion! So if you are skilled in one your skilled in all them.
Quake is an exception to the rule lol, take someone from cod and make them play quake against an experienced player and they likely won't get any kills.
Yeah. The most likely scenario is they would fall into the negative kills.
However, as shown by esports history, quake players tend to play very well in other games too - it's like the skill only crosses over one way. The movement and physics for quake are very unique and take a long time to master, but once you're used to them they don't in any way make other games feel alien. Most FPS games are like riding a bike, but Quake is totally different. If you don't practice regularly, even the most basic things like motor functions and aim will go directly to hell and you'll be moving around the maps like a slug, incapable of hitting your opponent.

It would take me a year to get back into my quake game, no question, and I'm not even that great of a player. It'd probably take me a week to get back into kicking ass on CS.

UT99, UT2003/UT2004 and Quake 3. I could guarantee that most COD players couldn't handle those games.

Fallout 3 without VATS. That game didn't have great shooting mechanics outside of VATS and took a bit of skill to come to terms with the shooting. It was even worse in third person mind.
That's because Fallout 3 is not an FPS. It's a true RPG through and through. Even if you shoot manually, whether you hit your target or not isn't based on your skill as a player, it's based on your character's skill with the weapon.
Strictly speaking it is an RPG but having 100% in small guns doesn't mean you will always hit your desired target, just where you're aiming. It does take skill to shoot the gun without VATS no matter what your stats are, they just define how accurate the shot is. You can't say it doesn't take the same sort of skills that a normal FPS takes just because it's an RPG. If it's in first person an you use a gun it can be filed as an FPS.

Garry's mod. I know the main objective is not KILL EVERYTHING WITH YOUR GUN THAT SHOOT BULLETS AT HIGH VELOCITY, but it does take skill to build a tank that can teleport anywhere, while flying, while having a suspension system. While firing nukes. So i guess it counts.

SWAT 4, it takes a hell of a lot of skill not to get flashbanged in the face by Reynolds and resist the urge to gun him down every time he tells you that you're in his spot.

Also, Duck Hunt. I hate that stupid dog.
