THANK YOU! As I was reading the OP I was praying to God this had already been mentioned. Stephanie Meyers's 4-piece shit-a-thon was neither charming nor was it well-written. I've read better fan fiction.

To the original point: Eragon. Because it was actually a decent story that was lobotomized for film. I can't say that Hollywood ruined Twilight since it already did a excellent job of that on its own.

Also, OP, the pale white pretty-boy signed to Twilight was somewhat crucial, no? Considering the absurd amount of text dedicated solely to the character's looks in the book, it would have been pretty difficult to hire anyone else.

and Twilight was a terrible film, I saw it without even knwing that it was a book, and I knew nothing of the fanboyism, so I went in with an open mind to it, and it was so goddamn awful

ya i knew nothing about it untill i heard about every girl 13-30 in this crappy ass town squeal at anyone who would listen about the damn thing, i took that as a big warning sign and stayed away.

well I took my girlfriend to see it, bad move. she got slightly obsessed with the main guy, which was horrific, but its all over now.

on a different note, how stupid is the fact that the vampires are shiny, I mean, who the hell thought of that??? well obviously the writer, but its just silly really

To be fair, neither of these books are really all that good. Eragon was better written than Twilight but that's only because Eragon borrowed from every damn fantasy novel I've ever read.

You're joking, right? Twilight is one of the few books I've read that I found to be so bad that reading it was literally painful.

Maybe Twilight is a big joke? What if in 10 years time Meyer is just going to scream "Gotcha" and tell us she didn't mean any of it. I'm just gonna pretend that's true.

And the Eragon movie didn't make a whole lot of sense and was overly convenient so I'll just say Eragon was a terrible movie and leave it at that. I avoid anything with dragons or vampires in it like the plague though. It saves me a lot of grief.
