Ah.....Nope. Not sure where you got THAT from.

Also 3 was just an extention of 2...making it slightly worse
*Insert insufferable sarcasm about looking up "sequel" in the dictionary here*
Also, I heard rumors they might be doing "Kratos versus other Gods"

Hell, why not? The story has already broken down beyond repair by the end of the third game, so at this point, I'll be happy with any excuse for Kratos to tear apart really big stuff.

Right, now we have that over with....SPYRO. THE MOTHERFUCKING. DRAGON. Whoever fucked that series up deserves to be ran over by a fucking train. I have NO IDEA when the last game came out, and I'm glad. I just know that the shit-to-quality ratio for that series was not looking good the last time I checked.

Goddamn piece of my childhood, man.

I can't comment of Final Fantasy, since I've only played 13. Well, some of it, anyways. And GOD IT WAS UUGHHH- sorry, said I wouldn't comment.
No, I'm going with Kingdom Hearts on this one. 1 and 2, Birth By Sleep and 364/2 Days were damn good, but all the mini-games are just... ugh. Hopefully, the mythical KH3 will be decent.

CoD.

It hasn't had an original idea since the 4th one. That was like the first modern day FPS but now every game and it's grandad is set in a modern day scenario.

SPOILERS!

No Big Boss died of FOXDIE but Snake decides 'to live out his life peacefully', would have much rather he went out like the Boss did, for his country and I'm not even American but he deserved to die (Not in a bad way).
I liked the Ending, Snake was literally created to be a soldier, Combat and fighting was everything in life his and he'd never known life without a warzone, the endings really nice because Snake can finally just see what life has to offer and not have to worry about saving the world anymore

going downhill?

Kingdom Hearts

They have a tendency to re-release older games either as 'final mix' versions or, in the case of RE:Coded, turning a foreign cell phone game into a portable game. The first game was really good, I'd liken it to Chrono Trigger. Battles are mostly random but they take place in real time using real strategy. The series tried introducing a card system that I didn't really like personally but the main problem is that they're not focusing on the main numerical story progression. Also, there's only so much you can do with the material present.

Grand Theft Auto

From the early top-down GTA games to as late as San Andreas, you could get away with calling the GTA games wacky. They were off the damn wall! Ever since GTA-IV though, things have tried getting far more real. Not that realism is a bad thing but something was lost in translation. To be fair, I haven't played Lost, Damned or the Ballad of Gay Tony. Gay Tony looked like it tried to recapture the whimsy of the earlier games though.

Final Fantasy

Final Fantasy X, XIII, VIII, VII and arguably VI were more sci-fi than fantasy, They took place in a sort of modern/futuristic dystopia, ruled by military police, an evil Emperor, an evil corporation, etc. As I've mentioned before though, people would rather play Final Fantasy MCIV than, Last Sci-Fi I. It could be that Square-Enix doesn't want to create an entirely new franchise but they seem like they're really trying too. Final Fantasy XIII for example had chocobos but it had no moogles, airships, a proper Cid, etc. The staples that make Final Fantasy a Final Fantasy seemed absent or altered (like how they had Transformers come on to take the place of proper Eidolons/ Summons) Square-Enix doesn't know where to take Final Fantasy so it could very well be time to lay the series to rest instead of giving the public spin-offs and, sequels.

For me its

Fable

Look the first was amazing I'll admit that but the second...IDK where to start, EVERYTHING about it was either useless or poorly made. The magic casting could be spammed by using a time spel then casting a very high level fire/lightning area spell, the combat is meh, going into slow motion evry hit for a dramatic effect becomes irritating after a while, and the whole basing the game around interacting with generic NPC's was the dumbist idea someone could think of. WHY THE HELL would I give a shit about a NPC that will probably disappear once I leave and reenter the city? Why would I want to marry person A over person B when they are both the same? Its a shame they went down the path where making samesex marraige was a top priority.

Final Fantasy

Look I LOVED XII (thats twelve NOT thirteen) because of all the sidequests and openworldness but thirteen just took everything right about XII and threw it out the windoe. I know some people may like FFXIII[footnote]LOL wut??[/footnote]but me being a person that can play any game, FFXIII is the first game[footnote]the second game is Chinatown Wars because I found the overhead camera to be atrocious and the third is Assassins Creed 2 because NO MATTER what YOU HAVE to be caught after you assasinate someone, so I just said "whats the point of being stealthy?" and just stopped playing[/footnote] where it bored me so much that I refused to play it any further (I got to gran pulse just so you know).

I can't just list one game to why a game is series is going down hill right? Well ust take a look at the mess that is FFXIV. That is all

Feel free to flame me and/or add your own suggestions.
Final fantasy 13 and 14 were both major flops for me, 13 mostly because of it being too difficult (for me atleast) and the total lack of freedom, it was downright infuriating. That being said, I still have high hopes for the series, I have enough faith to try 13-2 when it comes out, and the spin off titles have never failed to dissapoint, I recall having alot of fun with revenant wings, and of course frikkin Dissidia, not to mention its sequel that's hitting in march, looks to be a downright fantastic game.

On the subject of a dying series, I agree with fable 100%, both me and my best friend bought the limited edition of fable 3 after swooning over it for months, only to be horribly dissapointed and out of money -.-..it really does say something when Im not willing to buy the next fable, but am still considering buying a direct sequel to the most painful RPG I ever had to weather (FF-13).

As far as original suggestions go, I'm not too fond of recent dragonball Z games. A friend of mine bassicly grew up on the tenkaichi games for the PS2, and now neither of us can stomach any of the ones made for the 360 as of yet.

Kingdom hearts! I forgot about that one, agreed 100% goddamn percent. Number 1 and two were amazing, but it seems like since the ending of the actual story, they have just been pumping out one rehash/prequal mini-game bloated clone after another.

As much as I disagree with the haters and the people who ***** about wanting the series to die, yeah, Final Fantasy. Their two best guys left, so what do you expect, I guess.

In a sense of the game actually being good i'd have to say CoD, but its still extremely popular. I'll never forget the good times of cod1.

Edit: forgot to mention Medal of Honor, Moh:aa > current disgusting game with name Medal of Honor.

For me, i'm going to have to say (And it really does break my heart to say) Kingdom Hearts. I Love the series and all small the stories, but I don't think Coded is going to stay in my favorites list. I'm giving Square the benefit of the doubt because thats the only game I have disliked so far from the franchise. (And yes, i still like Chain of Memories despite the card battle system)

I'm the first to mention Silent Hill?

But yeah, Silent Hill. Even with the original team the series started to get a little shit with SH4, but after the franchise was shipped to another developer it turned really ugly.
I still believe that the story for SH4 is one of the best in the series; it was just let down by stupid game play decisions. It was at least something new and fresh, no-one can ever say that Team Silent ever failed to experiment with their series.

Once the series left the original developers; it was all downhill from there. The combat improved (aside from the God awful weapon degradation that had started in 4 but was taken to ridiculous levels in Origins) but they lost the feel for the games that made the series so popular. It's sad really because as standalones the newer games aren't bad; they're just not what I perceive to be Silent Hill games.

You can tell who plays Final Fantasy and who doesn't by how they say it sucks now.

People who play it: "They changed it again and this time it sucks!"
People who don't: "They've always been the same!"

Look at Final Fantasy let's say... 5. Then 13. Do they look remotely similar?...No?
Dragon Quest stays the same. Look at 3, then 9. Practically the same. And most of us love it for it.

The conclusion? Don't change things. Not only will you get hate, you also won't get credit.

The concept was really great - don't get me wrong - but it wasn't really scary anymore and the tone of the game felt completely unlike Silent Hill.

Once the series left the original developers; it was all downhill from there. I hate to be one of those fans, but for me the clunky controls and combat really added to the game's uneasyness. People might say that's a very convenient excuse for bad gameplay, but if SH1, 2, 3 had silky-smooth controls it would've seriously deminished on the fear department. Afterall, when you feel fear in real life you're not all spry and agile; you're shaky and unbalanced.

Am I the first to mention Rayman? Nice!

Yeah the rabbids changed a fun platformer series into a party game.

Also sonic. I am so reluctant to say this but the series started descending from SA2, while good, they introduced shadow and then it didn't get one inch better from that.

I've heard interesting things from sonic colours though, not sure what to think of it though it looks like a slightly better version of sonic and the secret rings.

God of War.

Its just the same (pretty damn good) game over and over again but with better or worse (depending on PSP or PS3) graphics
The series is done. How can it go downhill?
They made one for the PS3 after God Of War 3. Also 3 was just an extention of 2...making it slightly worse

Also, I heard rumors they might be doing "Kratos versus other Gods"

Uhh, no they didn't. They made Ghost of Sparta for the PSP which was a prequel. Funny you are trying to tell a guy with a avatar of a GOW character.
Jesus, jump on a guy for a small error. Christ alive, you'd think I'd raped your childhood.

I understand that a sequel will be similiar but GoW 3 made basically no innovation bar amazing graphics. It just stretched out the ending of GoW 2 by about 7 hours and became...boring I guess.

And sure, why not do Kratos versus other Pagan Gods? Oh wait, it will probs be the exact same game, just different locations/ At least something like Metal Gear Solid attempted (and succeeded to the most part) in innovating with each installment.

God Of War has reached its peak, like COD did with...Modern Warfare 2, I guess when they made 3, afterwards its going to go down hill. Fast

Dragon Age :(

I actually liked the combat, graphics, and story in Origins. The sequel seems to be taking it all away to become more "streamlined" and "edgy". I'm sure Bioware will still release an awesome game, but it's a shame that it's at the cost of what made the original so unique.
the only big changes ive seen are your no longer a mute and the combat is less cluster fucky so have faith my friend bioware tends to come through for their fans in the end:)
