My question exactly. Though I must admit, this trailer looked pretty fucking sweet. Pity it was an April Fool's joke.

Now ordinarily, I state that video game based movies have only ever achieved competent entertainment at best (Tomb Raider and the early Resident Evil flims), but that trailer looked amazing.

Megaman, Megaman 2 specifically, hopefully with a dash of Protoman somehow
I'd love to see a MegaMan movie but I think I'd prefer to see the Zero series to the originals in cinematic form. I feel that would be less of a bastardization of my favorite series. Edgar Wright might do a good job with it but let's remember that he did Shaun of the Dead, Spaced, and Hot Fuzz too. Not sure MegaMan's the right project for him.

Ico

There's still a lot we don't know about both Ico and Yorda. It could be made in the trend of the older more intimate fantasy movies, like The Dark Crystal or The Never Ending Story.

a Max Payne movie, that actually feels like it has something to do with the game Max Mayne, + better actors like Clive Owen as Max Payne (the best choice imho), and Mona....maybe Angelina Jolie...cause damn...yes..ohh yes

Dead Space already has one... well, a prequel

Anyway, I'd love to see an Alan Wake movie, or a Persona 4 movie

Killer7.

Just to see how they'd do it.
They'd most likely f*ck it up, but even so, they might get a 'so bad it's good' out of it.

I mean, just imagine this being translated to the big screen by someone like Takashi Miike.

Messed up; but in style...

There's always Red Dead, It would be nice to see Viggo Mortensen in an actual western.
Hidalgo was better than a western. Cowboy Viggo Mortenson, with the horse he calls a brother, racing through the Sahara against a whole bunch of Bedouins? Come on, the setting alone beats the crap out of a regular western.

As for what would make a good movie: don't you people ever read books? I mean, I thought the point of a video game is that it's better than a movie. Some would argue that video games are the way of the future, at least concerning visual media.

I would like to see a) "The Sword of Shannara" by Terry Brooks made into a movie. Yes, it's almost a direct ripoff of Lord of the Rings, but it's the first fanasty book I ever read, and it's still good on it's own merit.
b) "Shadow of the Hegemon" by Orson Scott Card. The novel is part of the backstory to Shadow Complex, which might just be THE best 2D side-scroller I've ever played, and I had about 50 games for NES when I was little.
c) "The Ravenor Trilogy" by Dan Abnett. Yes, I realise they're in the midst of producing the Ultramarines movie, but depending on the success of that, I think that it could be the logical next step for 40K on film.

Edit: Derp, I obviously completely mis-read the OP.

I could say the Legacy Of Kain series but that would be impossible and I'd hate myself.
If it's done well, Okami maybe. Otherwise, yeah Bioshock or American Mcgee's Alice even if idiots will assume it's ripped of from Burton's Alice.

Bioshock needs to be made as a fp movie, and not in the same way as those other movies did it, with a camera shaking around everywhere and looking at the least important thing in very intense parts.=/

Metal gear solid should be made into an anime.

I also hope that silent hill 2 will be good (if it ever comes out.=/) and that the castlevania movie will be bearable.

We have, but cant we at least dream that theyd get it right someday? After all, they did the first resident evil movie quite well, although everything went downhill after that, and the dead space animated movie was good in my opinion. So if they put some effort into it, Im sure they can make an excellent video game based movie.

Don't forget Chrono Trigger had an anime made as well.
I thought it had an OVA, that spoofed the games characters and monsters. Not so much an anime as it was a promotional cartoon.

Gears of War. Set during the trial of Marcus, with occasional flashbacks and cameos.

I have no ideas for movies, but World in Conflict could make a good Band of Brothers-esque mini-series.

earthbound and mother 3 (and mabye earthbound zero)earthbound isent that hard to do change the story that ness has to find the 3 other kids and only has to go to one your sanctuary.
mother 3 would be awesome i mean the story is there and i would love to see who they got to play porky or any of the other charaters the problem is the danm thing is too long chapter 7 alone could be a movie. its could be hard but the result would be awesome.

Megaman, Megaman 2 specifically, hopefully with a dash of Protoman somehow, I would also want Megaman to be played by an older teenager, also maybe get the guy who directed Scott Pilgrim because he's shown he can develop multiple characters. Oh and all the bosses get the Tokatsu treatment, just suits, with martial artists, the only CG being for the larger bosses.
Did you see the fan film?
http://screwattack.com/videos/Mega-Man
This is a film by Eddie Lebron.
OT: I don't have one. The Mega Man fan film was enough for me. But if there was a Sonic one, it'd have to be CG.
