Mortal Kombat, a piece of shit fighting game with terrible and boring combat. Only reason it was ever popular was because of its childish violence and controversy.

Half Life 2, a boring over hyped shooter that is nowhere near as fun as the fist game. The game is so stuck up its own ass too that it's just bloody pretentious. The AI was terrible even for its time, the weapons were all flat and boring aside from the gimmick gun, and the vehicle sections handled poorly. It was an OK game at best, but nowhere near the paragon of FPS greatness it's touted to be. At least HL1 was FUN to play.

Pokemon is fucking terrible, and always will be. Worst RPGs I have ever played and are nothing more than a boring insidious grind. Shallow and derivative game play, and BORING ASS COMBAT!! I love turn based combat but Pokemon is one of the worst and most boring. It's the same damn game generation after generation without any worth while improvements, god it's all just a long boring ass meta-game.

Goldeneye, all I gotta say is Perfect Dark was better.

FF8....oh good lord FF8.

Annnd I can't think of any more at the moment. Work break is over :p

Loathe is a pretty strong word, but I never really got what everyone saw in GoldenEye for the 64. I always thought it was ugly and fiddly and imbalanced and just generally pretty bad.
I agree with you there. I didn't like Goldeneye, either.

I've never liked the Donkey Kong Country games. It's a bunch of mediocre platforming with s shitload of stuff they want you to collect which does absolutely nothing outside of granting an extra life.
The graphics were nice, but that's about it.

Deus ex.
I just don't.
I'm sorry.
Ditto. I really tried to like it, but after playing a few levels I just got bored. I don't know, maybe I just wanted more diversity and color.

I'm Prolly going to be flammed for this but
it is my opinion

I just don't care for the Half-life Saga, I have played them all and I just cant get into them, I dont think they arn't worthy of respect they just dont do it for me
I feel you there I just don't get it. But I give it respect because without it Team Fortress 2 would not exist. Also I don't get Final Fantasy (sorry FF lovers!!) I just don't get it either.

Knights of the Old Republic. I just can't stand playing it, yet I love mostly everything else BioWare have made.

Mario anything.

No, seriously. I hate platform jumpers and the heart of Mario is platform jumping. There's little strategy to it, little enough action as well (at least by my definition of "action") -- it's just timing and pushing a button. I could understand an argument that it's "mindless fun" but it's too mindless for me.

Half-Life.
Overhyped drivel.
This. I never got into it. and overhyped is just an understatement. Sadly I do not know a better word to 'overthrow' the word overhyped.

OT:
Final Fantasy Series and Half Life 1+2. meh
Are you guys talking about 1 or 2 when you say overhyped? Because when the first one came out it was not really that hyped and was the most revolutionary shooter ever.
The second one, yeah, totally overhyped.

I loathe this thread, people saying that games only a few years old are consider "classics" makes me feel old.

Edit: Also the whole viewing of old games with expectations of new games.
Glad somebody said it! Why don't we stick to games old enough to be considered classics.

My vote is going to have to go to Total Annihilation.
I never got into it when it was new, tried it late, and found that the control and interface had not aged well in my opinion.

I don't know if a lot of people played it, but there was a game called Run Like Hell. All my friends got so deep into it, and I couldn't even do the first level. I turned it on, played for ten minutes and just gave up on the game. I don't really remember why. Also, I tried playing the first couple of Elder Scrolls and Fallouts, and I just...couldn't do it.

Half-Life 2. I swear I spent 80% of that game running around pressing buttons, turning valves and doing stupid puzzles. Oh and it gives me motion sickness.

I never liked Starcraft or Warcraft, I understand they're good games but for me playing them was like walking into someone's house and saying
"I really hate what you've done with the place Larry..."
It's just not for me.

Anything by Nintendo (although I did like Pokémon when I was younger). From then or now in fact.
