If it weren't for the fact that it's a pain in the ass to get games to run on it, Linux. Otherwise I use windows.

For everyday use (media, gaming, et cetera): Windows XP. For editing (sound, video), burning CDs/DVDs, or office applications: Ubuntu.

Windows 7 has worked fairly well for me thus far. Compatibility with most things, doesn't act stupid like Vista, and it's more stable than XP tends to be (with my family's track record of getting crippling viruses on our XP machines, at least.)

Only reason I stick to Windows is the gaming, though. If I could play all PC games on a different OS (Linux or Mac, both of which I know fans of) I'd probably switch over fairly quickly.

Windows 7 is the one I am most familiar with. I don't have much experience with other OS.

I run win 7 64 bit for gaming, in virtual box under openBSD. OpenBSD is my main OS for most things.

Windows 7 for my PC, Android for my smartphone.

NEVER have had a problem with Win7. It runs like a dream.

I think Android feels a lot like Windows in that you can customize a lot of things, see whats happening behind the scenes, etc.

Windows 7, because it was cheap and it doesn't make me want to rip clumps of hair from my scalp.

Same, my XP is good for me... nowadays it is stable, but I am running less dubious software and have more antivirus these days.
And XP does not chow RAM either. I can play all my games on settings that look good and have decent FPS too. With only 3GBs RAM. Although it is not as shiny as 7 I must admit. (yes I like my shiny gimmicky looking crap with extra features I might use between 3 and 10 times).

I'm still engaged in my love affair with XP, but only because it's still compatible with so much older software. This is mostly because of games though, since I love playing older games so much, that I almost refuse to upgrade. I'll eventually bump up to Windows 7 on my laptop and just use my desktop for older gaming experiences, but until then...

I'm a windows 7 guy, as far as finding files and running programs it's miles easier to use than xp, and unlike vista, it's not a giant piece of shit.

Edit: It also gave the windows key a purpose, which for xp was the stupidest and dumbest key in existence, but on 7, it's really useful. I'm still trying to figure out why my windows key doesn't work on my desktop, I think the software for my keyboard has it automatically shut off.
