Warcraft 2, first computer game I ever played online
Warcraft 2 was a game i grew up watching my dad play and it eventually moved its way to me. its still one of my favorite games. never did get into the online play on it though.

I've played PC games for almost as long as I can remember but I didn't start playing multiplayer online until I got Battlefield 1942. That game got me hooked on multiplayer gameplay for life.
same here about the online play. i never really liked playing multiplayer, but its kind of impossible to play BF1942 without a bunch of people.

I'm caught a little off guard by the amount of new games I've seen cited here. Don't get me wrong it's a good caught off guard, but a caught off guard nonetheless. It's nice to see that, despite many doomsayers, the medium is still drawing fresh recruits and therefore fresh perspectives. Welcome to the brotherhood. May your experiences be frag filled and lag free.

Well, DOOM didn't really show me the light but I played it loads. It was really Half-Life 2 that made me fully realise the awesomeness, even though I played it on PS3. It was because I saw all the mods like Black Mesa and Garry's Mod and thought to myself "I need to play this on PC". And so I will once I get a MacBook Pro.
Mac/=/PC. You'll regret your decision instantly in regards to gaming.

The PC game that showed me the light was Nightmare Creatures. After that was GTA and Starcraft.

Oh boy I don't really remember the exact game that got me hooked on PC gaming. It had to be one of these three: Wolfenstien 3d, X-wing Vs. Tie Fighter, or Sim City

It was either Chip's Challenge or that 3D Pinball game by Sahara that started it all.

Shortly after, it was Age of Empires that got me into more serious PC gaming.

Currently, my hooks remain to be Starcraft and Halo CE.

For me it was either warcraft: Orcs and Humans, or Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries
Actually I remember playing space invaders, and playing round 42 and paratrooper on an old and I mean Old pc.

While I could say Myst, I was already addicted to computer games by then. If I had to pick one that changed my life I would mention XCom. The first was OK, but the second was golden. That and the XWing Tie Fighter series.

The first shooter I ever played on a PC was Duke Nukem 3D. I loved it. I also liked Sim City 2000 back on my old Acer and Windows 95...it came on two 3 1/2" diskettes (lol, old). Star Craft made my relationship suffer when I was a bit older.

my first game experience was probably that caveman that smashed his oversized head into dinos to defeat them (i cant remember his name) but my first PC experience was Starcraft. oh yeah! that game was the first game that when my brother asked if he could get on my reply would be "just one more skirmish, i promise it will be fast." four or seven skirmishes later my thumbs were numb from the hot key use and my had was formed into the shape of my mouse. so Starcraft was my first week wasting PC experience. after that was Diablo.

Mac + Windows XP via BootCamp = Super powerful PC; and the 17" MacBook Pro has desktop-class specs, and I'm getting the 24" display for it aswell

My first single player addiction was with C&C Red Alert. When I was old enough to start gaming with friends, Diablo II and BF1942 quickly destroyed any chance I had of being considered a normal human being.
