Tomb Raider Legend. I had been a fan of the series but when I played that game it was just perfect. I really like myths and Legends and I loved the game so much. I can't stop playing it either. Because of it I have made many friends on forums and I have my own TR site.

System Shock 2. Without a doubt. Until then, I enjoyed consoles and PC equally give or take. Since then, PC >>>> Console.

I played Wolfenstein 3D back in the day, but the first real PC game i picked up and got me thoroughly into FPS Twitching was Unreal Tournament.
Seconded for UT. That level at the top of those towers with the low gravity was my favourite. That game taught me the golden rule of online FPS's. Never. Stand. Still.

My first choice though has got to be Elite. The learning curve was pretty steep but IMHO the only game that's come close to that sense of scale is Eve Online.

Well, DOOM didn't really show me the light but I played it loads. It was really Half-Life 2 that made me fully realise the awesomeness, even though I played it on PS3. It was because I saw all the mods like Black Mesa and Garry's Mod and thought to myself "I need to play this on PC". And so I will once I get a MacBook Pro.

Wolfenstein 3D caught my eye, but King's Quest 5 and Prince of Persia (The original!) made me stay.

After I saved up two grand for a proper gaming PC I was brought into the fold.

For years I just had an old Apple IIc, so nothing there really got me into PC gaming. I have fond memories of Aliens and Prince of Persia, but the Nintendo and Sega systems did much more in terms of entertainment for me. Eventually our family got a small, boxy IBM Thinkpad 486 PC, but it was then that I was turned on to DOOM. And the computer was in black & white with a passive matrix display, but it was still tons of fun. That led to Wolfenstein 3D, Blake Stone, and so on. That trend lasted for a number of years until PC hardware requirements started getting quite unreasonable for my bank account.

The games that first really got me into PC gaming was Doom and Duke Nukem 3d, playing them with an uncle.

Probably not the best games to let a 9 year old play, but hey, it didn't seem to affect me...

Tribes 2 was my first PC game and the first experience I ever had playing online. What an amazing game.
