Which Video Game Character is having the Worst Day

Nah. Asides from his family being slaughtered and being covered in their ashes, I reckon he's having a whale of a time.

Instead of Kratos I would go with any of the NPC in that game. Most of the time you just suffer a horrible death, or you are "saved" by Kratos after suffering a lifetime of enslavement in some god forsaken place (I guess the two priests you have to make them to read a book in God of War 2 had an awful life and a fitting end)

First of all, I have to second Lucas from Fahrenheit. I mean the guy finds himself in the toilet of a deli in New York.
OK if that isn't enough already he just killed someone without being concious of it and cut open his arms. Then everywhere he goes he is getting visions of monsters and his apartment trying to kill him. Also police is all after him. Turns out that the world is about to end. Man that is a shitty day. My second vote goes to a maximum level character in World of Warcraft, waiting for the next conten patch or add on. Talk about Monothony.

Gordon Freeman actually worked there. He became employee of the the month at one point and has a desk and everything. (Oh dera god I am a horrible, horrible nerd!)

Hmm, there is a few out there they wind up the creek with no form of paddle. Gordon is one, but he kicks so much arse, it is hard to sympathise with him. Plus he has a suit and a crowbar which makes his day much better.

Also, how about Ethan Thomas from Condemned. Dude just went to investigate a killing before getting framed and chased by some sort of deamon. Sucks to be him.

I think Purps has it pegged...

Freeman and Thomas... both going in for ordinary days at "The Office" and both getting sucked into a hellish situation in a very short period of time, it's worse for freeman though...

Fight your way through alien invaders one day...

Wake up in a hellish dystopia the next...

We can all agree that characters go through alot of hardships, but some stand out above the rest. these are generally the ones we can relate with. In my case i think the gold metal may go to Isaac Clark from Dead Space. You can hear/see his frustration in his every heavy movement. (especially when he's stomping some necromorph babies)
Another strong competetor for me would be poor ol' Gordon Freeman (It was his first day).
Forums, who do you think is having the worst day ever?

I think it's Freeman- he single handedly opens a portal for the aliens to slaughter most of humanity, has to fight for the rest of his life, and is being considered as the big f*cking hero! Come on, the guilt he has to feel for making all this bad stuff happen (even if unknowingly) must be really hard to bear. Add to this that everyone is looking upon him as the saviour of all. Poor guy.

i think the bosses actually have a worse life than most characters, they gotta run around with their weak point vibrant and glowing so everyone can see it. its like painting a giant target and saing shoot me here. why can't we just once have a boss where they die like normal enemies...rounds of bullets to the face!

Can't remember his name, but the bloke from Painkiller didn't have it too easy. Also, Hero of Time (OoT) Link, as someone mentioned, Gordon Freeman and the entire L4D squad have pretty shitty experiences.

EDIT: Harry Mason, James Sunderland, Heather Mason, Henry Townshend (I think that's it)... Silent-Hill-5-dude, Travis something-or-other, etc. The place seems specifically designed to fuck you mentally until your cranium resembles a nuclear testing site.
