At this point I s'pose I support the Germans. As I speak German, have German relatives and the U.S. got knocked out.

Japan or Germany. (Because I have a love for anything remotely Japanese and I have German blood in me.)

I wanted Switzerland to win from the start though, annoyed that they got knocked out.

England are gone (they didn't deserve to win any way) so I'm supporting Japan. GO JAPAN! They make great electronics and porn. Two of my favourite things. If the Japanese invented donuts then I'd name them the greatest nation.

Germany. I'm an England fan first and foremost, but since I am half- German, and lived in Germany for a few years, once England are out I want Germany to win.

The Netherlands and Germany, but if I had to pick one it would have to be Germany! They have the Octopus of Fortune on their side.

There's something inherently wrong with a world in which man chasing a bit of pig skin about a patch of grass and get paid more for that than most people do annually.
personally i don't have a problem with sports but my opinion on football, as the game in which one's foot and the aforementioned ball come into contact not the misnomerous sport entitled "football" in which men heft an egg to each other with their hands.

In light of the fact i really couldn't care about who wins and who doesn't I'm rooting for this rainbow trout.

It's gotta be Ghana, it would be fitting for an African team to win the first world cup in Africa.

Once they get knocked out I'll be supporting Netherlands, who imo are the underdogs of the big boys.

I was rooting for the Slovaks. They did very well this year. Now I am rooting for either the Netherlands or Japan to win it all.

Germany. (And i'm English.)
And I'm American.

My friend Apollo from work thinks its going to be Spain and Brazil in the finals. I don't; I'd put money on it being Germany and Brazil.

Where are you taking the "Best Player" stuff from?
Because I think that is strictly subjective.
For example, Nakamura didn't do pretty much anything this tournament, Villa has been more acute then Xavi, Meireles dominated Ronaldo and Podolski was worse then Klose.
From the expectations before the tournament.

you can check them here, though they are in spanish www.ole.com.ar

I do agree with you, but I wanted to keep it as legit as possible so I used a database

EDIT: Probably not the best database since I actually had to correct one of Germany's world cup that according to that site was won in 1978, when it was actually won in 1974
That info is awful.

Nakamura hasn't played, and Honda is their outstanding talent.

Podolski Germany's best player? Lolololol.

Their Ronaldinho "Fun fact" made me laugh, One of the best players in the world? Lol, maybe 4 years ago.

I get a feeling people don't consider Uruguay an underdog anymore. This pleases me.
