I don't really care. Why should we? Okay, it might take longer to develop, but hey, Square need to get working already. Look at them. "No idea bout release date, but you will get it 6 months after japan."

It's annoying. It really is.

Correction, Mistwalker and feelplus made Lost Odyssey.
So they did, it just boldly proclaims "From the makers of Final Fantasy" on the box.

Anyway, the point I edited in is still valid. Square has a lot more money than iD at this point.
Hironobu Sakaguchi, the so-called God of many J/RPG gamers is behind the idea LO. But Mistwalker and feelplus are also contributors.

God, guys like this [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-uTnqYHZ-I&feature=related] piss me off. I just don't get it.
This guy makes me want to punch a baby. Specifically, I want to go back in time and punch him as a baby. I stumbled onto this and I couldn't even watch the whole thing initially. I nearly berserked and threw my computer out the window.
I thought I had posted in this thread but maybe I didn't because people are still talking about that video.

If you had stairs in your house, you would understand that it is an obvious troll. Escapists clearly do not have stairs.

PS3 fanboys are pissed because they've lost the only remaining reason to own a PS3.
I think you owe Disgaea 3 and Valkyria Chronicals an apology.

On Topic: I agree with Onmi, the only reason to be angry is the delay in the release. Although it's awesome to hear that Tales of Vesparia is getting ported to ps3; not surprising though

Because we have to wait for it to be ported to the 360 before it will be released here in America.

That's the only problem I have with it.

I'm so sick of hearing people say ps3 has no good exclusives, by that logic neither does the 360 seeing as almost every major game(Ninja Gaiden 2, Tales of Vesperia, Bioshock...) gets ported to the ps3 after about half a year with additional content, all you have is halo, gears and the red ring of death. I don't really care about the port, after all i still get versus.

also those of you who repeatedly cry that the ps3 is too expensive if you've paid for xbox live for 2 years you've allready paid off the difference between a ps3 and a 360 so learn to keep your money in your pockets and save.

I try to avoid people like this. I've got a ps3 and it was kind of a letdown at first, but I got over it within the next few hours. But honestly, even if I had a 360 too, I'd probably still buy it on ps3 just because of it having more disk space.

If you understand Japanese fairly well, and are able to deal with the time of delivery, you can port it. ;D

I care a lot, I recently bought a 360 because it had more games I was interested in but I'm a huge FF fan so if it hadn't been announced for 360 I would have bought a PS3. I don't think the game will suffer in any way because they are porting it for 360, square's crystal engine was supposed to be cross platform anyway. I think all we are going to see is a slight delay in development.

It's only the rabid Sony fan boys complaining anyway. They're just depressed that Sony lost another exclusive, this is honestly the best course of action. It means more people can enjoy the game.

What? What do stairs have to do with some moron trying (and failing) to get people to sign a petition?

And I do have stairs in my house. My house is three stories. How do you think we get from one to the other, fireman's poles and rope ladders?

Which part of "increased production costs" isn't making sense? As iD have said, multiple discs are expensive, and devs will end up either shortening 360 games or abandoning the console altogether due to it. Even if it is multiple discs, hopefully the next FF will be bigger & better by abandoning the 360.
Repeatedly referring to a single developer's one game, which hasn't even come out yet, is really hurting your argument.

There are plenty of 100 hour 360 games. And Lost Odyssey, a long, multi-disc game, was realized on the 360 despite the fact that that game came from a relatively new developer and was not part of an established franchise. Final Fantasy, on the other hand, is the flagship series from a major developer. And Square hasn't been afraid to make multi-disc games in the past. I really don't think making the game multi-disc will be a huge issue. But if Square decides that I have to shell out an extra $10 for the 360 version, I won't be complaining.

Regardless, the idea that FFXIII will be reduced to 20 hours is ridiculous (unless you're talking about a speed run or something). 60 to 100 hours of gameplay has been one of the hallmarks of FF games since the PS1 era. Do you really think Square is going to throw that out the window rather than burning a couple more discs?

They have every reason to complain! Just look at my rant here [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.107649?page=3#1806109], it explains in full detail why so many PS3 owners are extremely pissed off that the 360 is getting FFXIII.

Don't get upset with me.

If I said "the crow craws at midnight" would you think I was telling you an important fact you needed to know?

Maybe theres more to what I said than what I said. :p

I'm more interested in FF Versus XIII, which I hear will have a similar battle system to the one from Crisis Core. FFVXIII is still a PS3-exclusive, so the PS3 owners still get a better deal. Since I have both a PS3 and a 360, this doesn't bother me too much.

I guess 360 only owners cares. According to me it kind of feels unnecessary that I bought a ps3 since almost every ps3 game is coming on the 360 as well (often the better version is on 360). That is why it would be nice with some more ps3 exclusives (the only ps3 exclusive I really like is MGS 4 but I have not played Valkyria Chronicles yet).

I don't understand Japanese, but I have a friend who's fluent in Japanese...Hmmm, maybe she could translate the game for me.

Well the size of the FF series has been on the decrease since the PS1 era, with FF10 not even having a proper world map. I never got al the way through 12 as it was so dire (crap characters). Fact of the matter is, the 360 is weaker than the PS3 so FF13 won't be as good as it could be if it was just an exclusive. Plusn passing on the extra cost to the customer will never happen, as you will most likely decrease sales and loose more money that way instead of just cutting back on profits. Either way, comapanies don't like loosing money & multi discs is a giant leap backwards to the PS1 days.
Neither of your complaints about FFX and FFXII actually addressed the length or size of the games. Whether you liked FFXII or not is a subjective matter that has little to do with whether the game is multi-platform. And if you don't like the way FF was heading in the PS2 days, why do you care if the series is also on 360 now? Anyway, had you actually played FFXII, you would know that it was very easy to hit 100 hours. I did so without ever spending any time level grinding.

As for passing the cost on to the consumer, this is exactly how businesses function, so of course it will happen. Why do you think $60 has become the new standard for game costs? The HD era has made development very costly and companies are trying to make up the costs.

With respect to multi-disc being a "giant leap backwards" - if you can't deal with the minor inconvenience of getting your ass off the couch every 10-15 hours to switch a disc, you need to reevaluate your priorities.

Finally, please review your posts for spelling, grammar, and punctuation. I'm not looking for Shakespeare, but I shouldn't have to read your post 3 times before I can figure out what you're trying to say.
