Should I buy this?

I've never played a Final fantasy game, should I get it?

Oh and to the main question, I can understand the position of the offended crowd, but to me personally FF13 is just another game. So I'd say I'm on the fence about it, It Is a betrayal, but exclusives are bastards to begin with so this type of thing should be encouraged.

It doesnt really matter to me what platform it comes out on... i dont thinik that exclusives are that important. If graphically possible everything should come out for both 360 and ps3 since most do eventually anyway. Also final fantasy doesnt float my boat.

That...is just frightening, some people get far too emotionally involved in this stuff (a good example being in the video in the quote).

I personally don't care where it goes (does it honestly matter?), I own a 360 and so do quite a few of my friends and we can all agree that we're not going anywhere near FFXIII for the sole reason of none of us really wanted it in the first place.

I also find it hard to understand why some people are so frustrated by this, the PS3 is still getting the game so it's not like anyone is at loss and if we're gonna make the 'betrayal of PS3 fans' arguement then we have to remember that FF was originally on the NES (so weren't they betrayed too?). In the end this just seems like typical, grouchy fanboyism to me (no-one with a balanced and unbiased perspective actually cares).

I mentioned the only problem, the delayed release, which sucks. and nobody can say it can't, also Australian, even longer. THANKFULLY The PS3 is region-free, buy it from America.
Dear God, you have to WAIT patiently for something to come out. Say it isn't so! {/sarcasm}

Come on, if the delay is your only *****, then you really need to re-evaluate your priorities and check yourself for a problem with instant gratification. I can't believe that the tolerance for waiting is becoming incrementally short with each generation. Get over it - you're going to have to wait for the good stuff all of your life

GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT. Or have you forgotten already?

Good for Square. Companies that stick to exclusives slowly run out of options, and their games get worse over time. Going multiplatform helps bring in more money, more interest and more talent.

The only people who really should care are people like you who love Final Fantasy games and have a 360. Those who have PS3s really shouldn't care that the game isn't "exclusive". The only people who benefit from a game being exclusive to one console are the people employed by the makers of that console. We gamers don't benefit from a game being exclusive at all really. As long as the game looks and plays well on the console you have, who cares if its out for any other consoles.

Only the ignorant, selfish fanboys care.

FF started with Nintendo, then moved to Sony, and even then FF games were still being made on Nintendo consoles and portable-platforms. But OH GOD FORBID MICROSOFT GETTING AN FF AS WELL!
...
Fanboys... ruin the fun of gaming.

The only benefit I see from owning the PS3 version of FFXIII is that you can get it early (if you port it from Japan.) Even then, you need to understand Japanese. Hell, I've come across people who now hate FFXIII for the simple reason of it being on the 360 as well.

Gametrailers has a ton of these fools. Some of the FFXIII trailers before the announcement of a 360 version had a score of 9.5+ even solid 10s. Now after the announcement most of them have gone down to 8s. The Sony hardcore fanboys shouldn't be whining, we (the Sony console/portable owners) are getting TWO FF exclusives while Microsoft gets the FFXIII port. FFvXIII(maybe this will change too) and FFXIII Agito.

-Sigh- *Old Snake impression*

Yeah, FF XIII Was going to be a huge afnboy argument for the PS3, but as it so happens, the PS3 still may have one up, as the Xbox version may have to be a multi-disc affair.

As for myself, I don't really care because it won't come out on PC... Not like I wanted it too anyway, I stopped liking Final Fantasy when it started turning some of my friends into Japwap addicts. Around FFVII

hey, someone get me some beer.

I don't care so much that I would buy it, I havn't cared about FF series since the 8 bit era. But I do care that Square Enix thinks the 360 user base is big enough to bypass the PS3 exclusive factor isnt worth having.

It sucks that it's multiplatform because it will be much shorter than if it was just a PS3 exclusive and technically inferior.
FF's used to hgave 100's of hours of gameplay, now it's multiplatform that'll be shortend right down to probably less than 20.
I really doubt it. The 360 version will just come with multiple discs.

Not even that is a big issue, Lost Odyssey = 4 disks, and that is up there with my top J/RPG games list. ;)
