I don't care that it's on the 360, but I think Sony should care. Think of all those PS3s people would've bought.

Who cares if Final Fantasy XIII is coming to the Xbox360...? Wait, scratch that. Who cares that Final Fantasy XIII is coming?

From the demo footage it looks like garbage, I was really looking forward to the game, but then I heard that it wasn't Turn-Based like Final Fantasy X (the only real Final Fantasy since... well, since ever) and then I saw the video and now I'm a sad Panda.

Let me start by saying that I own both a 360 and a PS3. When I heard about the multiplatform release, I was pleased only for one reason: If Microsoft was willing to buy it, that means it's going to be a good game (I expect they made their research before paying all that money).

On the other hand, this is very sad news for the PS3 and its position in the market. Exclusive games are what keeps consoles alive and competing and ultimately lead to better games. The PS3 sadly lost this battle. And I'm saying "sadly", because really, the PS3 is better hardware. Whenever I'm playing something on the 360, I keep peeking at it with the corner of my eye to make sure it hasn't exploded or caught fire, also I have to turn the game volume up higher just to cover the insane system fan noise. The PS3 is slick and silent. Also it is capable of better graphics and faster frame rates, if a game is actually properly optimized for it. Games like MGS4 and KZ2 look 1 full generation ahead of 360 games, sorry but that's a fact. The PS3 is a much better console, but I keep buying games for the 360 instead, because unfortunately their PS3 versions are horribly programmed and run worse. I would love to see the PS3 dominate the market and with loads of exclusive titles, not because Sony would pay me a percentage, but because that would mean that I'd be able to play better looking games, it's pretty simple.

Now, as for FF itself, I fully expect them to water down the visuals (not the content, that would be silly) to make it playable on the 360. It's simple really, when you are making a multiplatform game for 2 platforms with different capabilities, you have to choose between:
1) Optimize the game for the lesser hardware and be done with it.
2) Make two separate versions which look and play different and both take advantage of their platforms fully (takes a lot of money and time and people will still ***** and moan = forget it).
3) Optimize the game for the better hardware and have it run like shit on the other console (you won't do that if you are serious about your product and a respected developer, like Square).
So yes, I expect them to take the first option, which means the game will not look as good as it would if it was an exclusive.

There is no awesomeness in FF, it is just shit, end of, too many sequels for it's own good squeezing money out of faggots like you who love transvestite females, wield a massive unwieldy sword jumping all over the place. It's not about comprehending awesomeness it is trying to comprehend how blind cunts worship a shit heap.

I dont care.
Now, if Kingdom Hearts 3 came out on 360 I would be happy ^^
If only indeed. Birth By Sleep looks so pretty...

On a more on-topic note, as someone with a 360 and who hasn't played many Final Fantasy games, I can honestly say that I'm not too bothered about this. I can also say, however, that I'm probably going to at least give it a try and might end up actually buying it. And that's the whole point of the Xbox getting the game; a larger audience. Why are people treating this as if it's some cardinal sin that a company wants to make more money? Isn't that the whole point of business?

FF on Xbox => more xbox/ less PS3 sales => more money to Microsoft => more money to mediocre gaming / Lack of innovation / Inferior products => games will never evolve/ be taken serious enough

1)It is not in a companys best interest to make a game on 2 or more discs because of production cost (iD and making Rage). With a game like FF, Square can guarentee sales reguardless of quality or game length.
2)They have been messing with the series since FFX, so why are they going to stop now?
3)With the graphics and power needed/they are boasting about, it will eat up 8gb very quickly. Again, only 1 disc, so it will be shorter & technically inferior if it was just on the PS3. Plus usually ported games look worse on PS3, which is lame as it is a result of poor data conversion rather than hardware issues (see CryEngine 3 video for evidence). As much as I would love to use it as a boasting point, I just want to play a good FF again =(
1) No they can't because fans have been jaded ever since X and are starting to get annoyed that Sqaure hasn't produced FF's to the same standards they used to. They need this game to sell well, they know that better than we do hence will put everything to have into it.

2)They've tried a few things and they haven't worked, at least they tried. Shortening the series is not one of them and I highly doubt it ever will be.

3)When they're coding the original game entirely for the PS3 and then porting it over to the 360 meaning the graphics wont be affected. Also a blu-ray disc can hold 50 or so gb, they're not going to have an issue with the ps3 version. It is the 360 version they will struggle with, but that shouldn't concern you because they're primarily producing the game for the ps3 (because of the Japanese audience) and porting it for the english release.

I care in regard I feel sorry for Sony at the moment. I don't play JRPGs, but FF was one of Sony main franchises, one of the (sadly few) reasons to own a PS3. It must have been quite a blow.

Oh yeah, I forgot that id Software is the only developer in the whole world. Lost Odyssey did just fine on what was it? 4 CDs?
Which part of "increased production costs" isn't making sense? As iD have said, multiple discs are expensive, and devs will end up either shortening 360 games or abandoning the console altogether due to it. Even if it is multiple discs, hopefully the next FF will be bigger & better by abandoning the 360.
Square has no problem with multiple discs. They made Lost Odyssey remember.

Don't mention increased production costs, this is Square. They have the wealth to see this through and Final Fantasy is their flagship franchise.

He seems to miss the fact that each and every human being has their own personal taste in everything. Stating his opinion has a fact and acting like anyone gives a shit. Pity.

FF has been on Sony and Nintendo platforms and PC(FFVII) simultaneously.

The only reason it's a big deal is because it was announced to be exclusive on the PS3, which it still is in Japan.

So they did, it just boldly proclaims "From the makers of Final Fantasy" on the box.

Anyway, the point I edited in is still valid. Square has a lot more money than iD at this point.

God, guys like this [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-uTnqYHZ-I&feature=related] piss me off. I just don't get it.
This guy makes me want to punch a baby. Specifically, I want to go back in time and punch him as a baby. I stumbled onto this and I couldn't even watch the whole thing initially. I nearly berserked and threw my computer out the window.

It's a good thing that FF13 is going multi-platform because it means that Square Enix will make more money. Thus they will produce more games. As a fan of Square's games (KH2, FF7, FF5), this is a good thing. Maybe they'll come out with another game for the PSP.
