No one. I got everyone's loyalty, and I carefuly placed my squaddies in the appropriate roles.

Tali was my Tech. It was an obvious choice, because she's the one keeping the Normandy flying.

Garrus was the leader of both distraction teams. Why? Because he led a vigilante squad in Omega. And survived. For an extended period of time. His squaddies only died because of some backstabber (and who can argue against money?).

Jack was my Biotic, because, quite frankly, her abilities,as depicted in the cinematics, anyway, are INSANE. It was the natural choice.

I had Mordin lead the crew back to the Normandy,as he wasn't very good in combat (I found). That was more luck than anything else.

For the fight,I brought Tali and Jack. Tali was there for the drone, primarily. Jack was there to toss the enemies around, and provide Warp Ammo.

That is how I survived the suicide mission. Whoever said that survival was not guaranteed OBVIOUSLY didn't do enough research into Commander Shepard.

For me, it was someone that, utterly crushed me...ultimately made me hate the ending, and question Bioware forever.

NO ONE.

A case in point of why choice and decision tree structure in gaming is not a good idea. The final showdown didn't have a single scene to make it interesting or give a climactic twist. It was go in, blow stuff up, go out. Maybe other people had an interesting ending as a result of their decisions. I didn't.

I fully support the Mafia 2 developers; they had three endings, but said "You know what? Fuck it. We have one GOOD ending. We want to make sure everyone sees it."

Nobody dies on my watch.

Even if that watch is my first run through without using a FAQ.

I don't even have the heart to kill off characters I don't like. Although in ME2 that wasn't really a problem since the only character that got on my nerves was Zaeed.
Hm, you can maroon Zaeed on a planet in his loyalty mission right?

First time, Legion and Mordin. I had done all the loyalty missions except for Legions.
Second time, no one.
Third time, no one. This is the save that I'm keeping, because I lost the other two. =(

Mordin, due to some stupid glitch with Mordin dying no matter what you do.
Lies. Send him back to the ship with Dr Chakwas. That's what I do and he always lives.

None, I originally thought someone died as part of a story because my friend played through and was sad when one of his favorite characters died. On my first playthrough however I had no one die and got a totally different ending from him, apparently by pure luck too because I sent Mordin back with the survivors and he sent Garrus I think.

Mordin died on my first try, which was a real shame, because he was my favorite character. No one died on my second playthrough.

mordin because of the bullshit weakness chance that was there before the extra DLC characters.

Nobody on my first/only playthrough. But I did all the loyalty missions, made the right choices for responsibilities and had a fully upgraded ship...
