The historian is a bad choice, as an old person, he would be bad at reproducing and hunting. Knowing about aqueducts does not help you get water. History deals with a macrocosm, and you're not in one anymore. If he knew about farming or fishing it might be another story.

And you don't have to be Muslim to be a rabbi.
In fact, it's quite impossible to be both.
I said you don't have to be muslim to be a rabbi, not that you can't be both.
Saying "you don't need to be a Muslim to be a rabbi" is like saying "You don't need wings to be a cow"
Uhh, Im pretty sure its not like that at all. There are Christian rabbi's, jewish rabbi's. Basically a rabbi for every religion out there.
No. Not at all. Jews have Rabbis, Catholics have priests, Muslims have imams. And cows can't fly.
Yes cows can't fly (yet), and as we ussually call them priests and imam's they are also refered to as rabbis, alot. Look it up. and if thats the case than what you originally quoted me for makes no sense at all. You are now kind of disagreeing with what you originally said.
Uh-uh. Nowhere does it say a rabbi is a universal term (from what I've seen or heard). Also, how am I disagreeing with myself? I started by saying you can't be a Muslim and a rabbi, and I'm still saying that.

Also, the internet has this to say:

Impressive. I saw where I messed up. You said it would be impossible when I thought you said possible. My bad. You get to slap me in the face although I still swear that there are Christian rabbis because they made me play one in a catholic school play.
Ah-ha! That explains everything!
Still, I'll look up the whole "Rabbi as a universal word for religious teacher thing". I'm genuinely intrigued.

1) most likely smart. obviously can breed.
2) can breed and is already working on it
3) useless
4) knowing history may be a good thing, however an old person may not be fertile, may not be capable with physical labor
5) useless
6) useless
7) doctor = good
8) one could argue that this person may be good for keeping order, i think that with 6 (presumably hand picked) people your not going to need that much.
9) religion and beliefs are low on priority when it comes to this
10)im too tired to think of this persons uses.

Well lets' start with the Logical. 7. The Med student gets in, for obvious reasons. 10. the biochemist...because you know a guy like this will come in handy.

The cop and Rabbi are out. Athlete is out.

Historian and Starlett are in. College coed is out.

these 2 are in
1) A male Librarian
2) The Librarian's wife, who is 6 months pregnant

More information is needed on the sex of every person.
But that's my decision.

Tough call between the college co-ed and librarians.

2) The Librarian's wife, who is 6 months pregnant - New life ASAP, plus further breeding opportunites.

3) An Olympic male Athlete (for arguments sake, of all sports) - For eugenics purposes and possibly hunting, if necessary.

4) An elderly male, famous historian - To document this pivotal time in human history, to keep existing history alive, and, at a stretch, mild entertainment.

5) A renowned female starlet (dancer, actress, singer, songwriter, etc) -For eugenics and entertainment.

7) A second year medical student - Closest thing to a doctor. The eugenics couldn't hurt, either.

9) A rabbi - Organised religion could prove to be a calming effect at such a distressing time.

10)A biochemist - To help analyze what's left of the earth.

1) A male Librarian - Yes, because I am nice. -1-

2) The Librarian's wife, who is 6 months pregnant - Yes, because she contains the begining of the next genreation of humanity, plus is a woman, meaning MORE procreation (With husband.) -2-

3) An Olympic male Athlete (for arguments sake, of all sports) - No

4) An elderly male, famous historian - Yes, to record several years of history for future generations. (Will die, leaving room for baby's rations.) -3-

5) A renowned female starlet (dancer, actress, singer, songwriter, etc) - Yes, procreation.
-4-
6) A college co-ed - Yes, procreation. (assuming here they are female, if not, Rabbi for the lulz.) -5-
7) A second year medical student - Yes. -6-

8) A police officer - No

9) A rabbi - No, unless 6 is male. -5-

10)A biochemist - No

However, if I have to count as one of the six, I would replace 6)/9)

I'll go with 1,2,3,7,8,10 and I'd sacrifice myself to save another person, probably 6.

2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10.

Anyway, a couple hundred years later I open the vault and let in a scientist/doctor and his newborn son, then close the vault doors, hopefully forever and make people forget they were ever opened.

Then one day, the doctor/scientist escapes the vault, throwing it into chaos. His son follows him into the nuclear wasteland, trying to track him down.

Eventually he finds rescues his father from a simulation in ANOTHER vault, but then he sacrifices himself so that the Government cannot get its hands on a water purifier, that will save the post apocalyptic world from dying out.

The question goes as thus: You are a government leader who is aware of an impending nuclear war, and is faced with the decision of who to save. Their is only one fallout bunker capable of escaping the radiation (just go with it), and it only has enough food for 3 months, which is how long the radiation is supposed to last, and 6 people total. Keep in mind that these people that are in this vault may be the last humans and must reinhabit the vacant Earth. You have a list of 10 people to choose from...
1) A male Librarian

8) A police officer
9) A rabbi
10)A biochemist

So now it is entirely up to you... Who do you save? Only 6 people can survive, meaning 4 people have to die.
There is a problem with these theorys. the breeding stock-based sclections you people made would be fine on paper, but what happens down the line? eventually, inbreeding will be nessisary, and If one generation failed to reproduse, BAM! everyones dead.

If I am going on the assumption that this bunker may hold the only possible secret to humanities survival, I would seemingly have to make my decision based entirely on that basis.

The Librarian's wife is pregnant, as such she is demonstrably fertile and actually counts as two people, and thus would be let in. The college co-ed would be the second on the list for the same reason. The medical student is third on the list regardless of gender. Even if they aren't fully trained in medicine, they will certainly be able to aid in survival after escaping the bunker. The Female starlet and athlete are picks four and five.

Up until this point, the choices are easy, but the remainder have somewhat less to offer. The Police officer is hardly a suitable choice because their primary purpose is to protect people from one another - if myself and seven others are all that's left I suspect problems can be resolved in other ways. The knowledge of the biochemist, while probably valuable in some circumstances, is most likely irrelevent in the wasteland and they would have little opportunity to put their knowledge to use.

That simply leaves the Rabbi, who may be able to offer solace once the world has become a graveyard or the Historian who may be able to begin an oral or written tradition such that we remember just how we came to this juncture. Being concerned primarily with surival of those under my charge, the Rabbi seems like the more important of the two. The historian may be able to aid in avoiding a repeat fate, but the Rabbi's spiritual guidance would probably prove more useful for the immedeate surivival of the species. Plus, the elderly man won't be of much use for either reproduction or labor.

I don't know. It's just me.
If the co-ed is a good person then she gets to live, but for now i'll assume she's not.
