who else is sick of waiting for HL2 ep3?

Alright, I like the story in HL, but it's always been more about the experience. I, for one, enjoyed Episode 1, it was a fun experience. That said, that may be because my first exposure to a Valve game was the Orange Box, so I didn't have to wait a year after playing Episode 1 to play the next chapter.

And i was like "Wait. What? What the fuck was that? NOTHING HAPPENED! I HAVE TO WAIT A YEAR OR MORE TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS? AFTER THAT? WHAT?"

And Episode 3 is even worse. Because at the end of Episode 2 is where i really started caring about the characters.

But you're right about the experience. I just felt slighted because it had aproximately .41 plot points.

The Episodes are usually shorter than that so it's even more stupid

While there were few plot points, there were quite a few set-ups for the rest of the series:
-Transmission packet
-Intentional destruction of the Citadel
-Advisers

Okay, so maybe that doesn't help my argument so much if most plot points make little sense until the next installment, but still.

Honestly, be patient, Valve is working dillgently on the game and there trying to release it soon. It's not gonna be a Duke Nukem forever. Trust me.

Also, try to keep things in perspective. Valve games tend to be great, but if yyou treat this game as a god before it even reveals itself, then your only gonna be dissapointed.

For a bunch of developers as talented as Valve I dont think there is any excuse for the time gap between the Episodes.

Lets face it, the story must have been finalised years ago and the engine is already there, does it really take so many years to put the 2 together in such a way to make a sub-10 hour game?

Have you heard Valve's reputation? Do you know how long there was between Half Life 1 and 2? Here's the deal with Valve: long wait times, amazing games. Just how it works.

You cant compare the wait from the 1st game to the 2nd, thats ridiculous. As I said, they have all the engine tech already, they have the story already, they just need to wrap it up and THAT SHOULDN'T TAKE MORE THAN 2 YEARS.


EDIT: And this isn't just because this is Valve. Any developer who takes 2+ years to release what is essential is an expansion pack must be prepared to take some flack.

EDIT AGAIN! And it's hardly as if they cant make a great game in a short time frame, look at L4D2...

I don't see what the big deal is ! Valve made everyone wait for 10 years for TF2 so you should
be happy your getting it in 2010.

Why don't you boycott all of Valve's games until they release Episode 3?

Which are? The Passing? No luck with that since Steam is going to automatically sneak it onto your PC the first time you start it after it's been released.

Or portal 2? Odds are that they are going to be the same game because the Borealis had a GLADoS unit on board.

I'm so good at waiting I didn't paly half-life 2 intill 3 or 4 years after it was relased and i'm still waiting to play the second ep. so don't think about because you will play just not now let time flow like it should.

I stopped caring about Ep. 3 a long, long time ago. No point in getting worked up for something that is essentially a small supplement.

Anyone who expects it to be any more than what the other two episodes brought to the table is setting their standards way too high.

I haven't been waiting very long, since my first experience of half-life was when I got the orange box a few months ago, but I think Valve needs to at least give us some sort of deadline or progress update or... something...

It took TF2 10-12 years to be released, so I'm getting ready for the long haul(I've already started stocking up on water and dehydrated space food).
