I've pretty much been playing since release. Ignore the singleplayer other than to test the maps out the first time round and play it entirely as a multiplayer experience. Its still got some pretty bad bugs on the pc. (sound routinely cuts out for all players on one map and I occasioanlly get a bug where all enemy sprites dissapear) but im still enjoying the game. And while the smgs and Assualt rifles may all feel the same, there are enough different weapons to balance out gameplay.

I think overall it's a decent game, but it shouldn't have been 50-60 bucks. A game that can only stand on its multiplayer aspect should really be less, but at least they're giving away the first set of DLC for free to make up for the unfinished feel of the initial release. First day patches don't bode well for proving you really put an effort into the game.
First - please stop complaining about price. games average 110$ in AUS (which is about the same as in american)
Buy PC over Steam or something then. If what I'm reading is right you don't get the mark-up for digital downloads. I'm sorry that shipping and population and other economic factors make games ridiculously overpriced for you and I sympathise. Next time you get charged 380 bucks for going to the doctor for 5 minutes though come back to me.
Oh I do buy my games from steam, but most my friends dont or cant because their banking card doesnt let them pay online. My point is i paid about the same, the 50$ for it, and i feel it was more a bargain then the time i paid 120$ for call of duty.

Oh, and we do get charged quite alot for our doctors, though for 5 minutes that seems excessive - no exaggerating there?
Fair enough.

No exaggeration. Unless you count waiting room time, then it was more like 25 minutes. I went it, doctor looks in my throat, says I have bronchitis and sends me off with prescription. Didn't take more than 5 minutes.
:( ouch. The highest Ive ever heard someone pay is 200 or so for that. that sucks.

hehehehe, so the question is was one minute with the doctor worth Brink?

My friend loves it, and I played a bit. I sucked, but it is pretty good, definitely different. I can say that the lag is AWFUL right now, but supposedly they're looking into a fix.

Oh, and there isn't really that much content so far. The multiplayer maps are essentially the campaign missions but with humans... so you're constantly playing through the campaign basically.

It's really fun. I will go on record and say that it's the most fun I've ever had playing dress-up. Multiplayer is fun, the guns are balanced, and it just works.

Also, I feel like people who haven't actually played the game should be posting.

It's flawed but fun.
I like the team based gameplay and the objective wheel but the weird 'lag' bums me out when it happens.

Level design is a bit strange, lots of 'hubs' connected by corridors which slow down the parkour and seem counter to the games SMART system by acting as funnels to be defended. Containers IMO is the only map that delivers on the original idea.

Not a great game but it's sure fun.

It has flaws like many have mentioned. Some will be fixed which is nice. The first patch already made the lag a bit less frequent. For me though, the best part of the game is that it is fun to play. When you and your team work together and use the class skills effectively, it's really quite fun. Not for everyone, I see that, but you get a recommendation from me:)

I'm really enjoying the game so far, though a friend of mine has had his save data corrupted since the PSN came back online! Not sure if it's happened to me as I haven't dared check yet...

Anyone else had this?

I would consider it if it acutally HAD a singleplayer, instead of that pathetic farce it has going on.

I love it. Its not as good as some other assult based games. And I have two gripes with it for can't swap body type in a match and it can get randomly laggy in MP.

It's fun, but to be honest, I quite prefer Enemy Territory. I don't think they'll ever be able to top that game.
THIS. ET lasted me a good two years, and all I ever wanted to play was the original 6 maps. Good times.

I think that it's good, with a bit of love and a few more maps/game modes it could be excellent.

It has a ton of potential and absolutely didn't deserve any of the negative reviews that it recieved.

I'm waiting a week or two for you guys to start selling it for $10 on ebay.
Ah, you the same devious plan that I do. Thank god for poor reviews!

OT: It's not perfect, but it's definitely not as bad as people make it out to be. SMART is pretty competent, usually, and the gameplay is pretty fun. The bots are idiotic and the maps are sometimes dull, but it happens. Is it worth $50? Well, that depends on your level of disposable income.

Don't listen to the haters, really. Gamers have a tendency to hugely overreact, dooming a simply decent game to a pit of hate and despair.

Brink isn't great, but it's competent, let's just say that. Still, if money is an issue, buy it used. Thanks to the hysteria surrounding its release you'll probably find them flooding the used bin fairly soon. Or just rent it if you're still wondering.

I sorta like it. It's not what I expected, but it's still quite fun. That is, when it works, as I suffer from quite a lot of lag online.

But at least the core gameplay is pretty solid; guns feel good and are balanced, playing dress-up is fun, and the missions can be pretty tense as well if the enemy is competent enough.

Tried it for half an hour round my friend's house and got bored of it. I don't think its my type of game.

I got it yesterday and pretty much havn't stopped playing.
And to the people who constantly call it out for the single player, it wasn't designed to be a single player game. It was built around multiplayer. That's the point of the game.
