Who is Best Avenger?

I'm indifferent to the movies themselves but my god are the "Avengites" the worst fans ever. It seems like every site I vist lately has been full of these stupid overly-muscled dudes in silly costumes, derailing perfectly legitimate threads with their nonsense. It's just a movie, guys, there's no reason to build your whole identity around it. These threads are inherently exclusionary and pointless, and if you really feel the need to talk about the movies please take it to your user group.

In all seriousness, though, I'm not a big superhero fan, but the Captain America movie was quite enjoyable so I'm going with him.

Saying 'who is your favorite avenger' is kind of like saying 'who is your favorite marvel hero that hasn't been a member of the x-men' (even then there's some overlap) with a revolving door roster of no less than 70 different heroes... Though I know when most people say the avengers they mean one of the mostly dozen or so consistent members.

I'm going to go with the entire Great Lakes Avengers team. Particularly Squirrel Girl.

I mean no other hero has defeated so many powerful foes in such a short time.

Ironman or Black Widow for me. Ironman because Robert Downey Jr. fits and plays the character brilliantly and Black Widow because, like you said, it's Scarlett Johansson. Do love pretty much all of them though.

And before you start raging about 'another stupid Avengers thread' or something similar, there are a lot of threads in the forums - pick another one of those and ignore an obviously Avengers related thread. SHEESH!

I like Hank Pym, he is quite a unique superhero as (I recall) he has no specific super power, he has changed power multiple times which is pretty cool. Hawkeye is pretty cool as well, he is always overlooked so he's kinda the underdog. Also Iron Man was my favourite as a kid but I didnt like Iron Man 2.

Least favourite: Thor and Hulk, never liked either of them.

If they all had a fight to the death I would say it would end up being a battle between Hulk and Thor.

Hulk would crush Iron Man and if Cap America lost his shield then he's all but done for. Black Widow and Hawkeye would be dead almost straight away since bullets and arrows wouldn't do much damage.

Thor and Hulk seem to be invincible so it would end up being a battle between them two...Since neither can use each other's weapon (Hulk's strength and Thor's hammer) and both pack a wallop it would be a pretty even-matched battle.

IIRC, in the whole movie, he never has any of those godawful attempts at comedy.

And he spends a lot of his time telling the super powered tossers he works with to quit asking questions about SHIELD, and go save the world. Or to quit fighting each other and go save the world. Or to quit whining and go save the world. Or to stop whatever stupid bullshit they are doing and go fucking save the fucking world.

Yeah but in the comics he spoke like someone out of the king james bible. With all his thys and thous. So a crappy accent is an improvement.

I love Thor and Hulk cause they are so overpowered and in the comic and in the movies i like their story and their side characters loki,the enchantress, mangog for thor and you have abomination, maestro, and almost every marvel hero for hulk

The style of speech would definitely be an improvement but the accent... Oh god the accent. Everytime he opened his mouth it made me more ashamed to be Australian then the last. And the fact that they want to use him to make some kind of weird bicep porn (almost every shot of him has his arms crossed and emphasised his arms)

Most powerful is Thor. Hulk is strong but not quite as powerful as Thor.

My actual favorite is Iron Man though.

Eh tough decision. Either Captain America or The Hulk. Caps probably the best role model in comic books and the Hulk is an interesting Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde esq character.I havent seen the Avenger film yet(it isn't out in the good old U.S) so im Basing these off of the 2008 Hulk, the 2011 Cap film, the cartoons I watched as a child and to a lesser extent the comics. (the comic stores around me keep closing!)

Iron Man. Besides my deep love and fascination for technology/machines (the suit is just epic, and the fact that he built it by himself almost makes me consider admitting I have a man crush on him), his sarcasm and quirky mannerisms always puts me in a good mood.
