Who is going to replace Jim Fucking Sterling-san?

Some people already mentioned my favorites SuperBunnyHop, Errant Signal, Extra Credits, Adam Sessler...
Frankly I don't see any of them coming on board, the later two are already successful in their own right and the earlier two post too infrequently (not that it is a bad thing).
I'm confident the escapist will come up with someone.

The second half of my post in this thread actually has nothing to do with the first half of it, but instead it references a random unrelated post in a completely arbitrary random other unconnected thread for...well, no coherent reason at all. Was is it not obvious I was referring to something through three layers of disconnect?

Personally, the last thing I want to see is more white people talking about the same shitty games that the other sites are talking about.

One of the things that really bothers me is that we continually get this white-washed (and I mean this literally) brand of political correct gaming commentary being pushed by the major sites. Everything's always from the perspective of a college educated, middle class, white hipster. Occasionally they will be gay, which these days is like basically putting on a hat and pretending to be different. (Sorry, but the western world, while not perfect, no longer runs in terror from homosexuals or trans people).

OT: This is both impractical and probably won't be popular with other Escapist users but I'd actually kind of like to see someone from Yogscast get a shot at slightly more serious content. Nothing massively serious that causes intense angry debates but something like, for example, Sips showing off/ talking about a few of his favourite mods each week would be kind of cool.

I wouldn't want a replacement for Jim Fucking Sterling, Son! to be honest. Love the bastard but I would like to see something besides video game journalism here. Something more on the lines of a dedicated Let's Play group or an original animations (a la Machinima's Happy Hour...maybe).

However if they were to put something to take the place of the Jimquisition, I'd vote AlphaOmegaSin. Alongside JFSS he's one of the few guys on youtube I'll regularly watch and get entertainment out of.

I really like the Robbaz idea. I think the dude's just funny, and this site could use some straight up video game comedy.

TotalBiscuit would be neat, but it's just not ever going to happen.

Wait, when the hell did Escapist pick up Game Theory? Was it just the main series, or did culture shock get brought along to?

A stupid thought occurs; maybe Escapist could go through the review forums, looking for the best/most popular ones, and just a. Have someone (maybe yahtzee, since I'm guessing rhymedown and uncivil war are out with jim going) do a video of it or b. if the writer wants, have them do a video of it. If someone get really popular that way, BOOM, homegrown talent.

I need more Cartoons here. I came to this site for Unforgotten Realms, and since then the Cartoons on this site went up slightly, and then shrank dramatically until only Yatzee remains (And even he isn't truely a Cartoonist, nor is his series really a cartoon).

I want a New Cartoon on this site!

I forgot about that show, it was hilarious I miss that.
I never really dug Jim Sterling much. Other than Yahtzee I'm not very in to much British content.

Well, I can think of one person who is perfect for the job. Not as "replacement for Jim Fucking Sterling son" but rather "A person who I think more people should listen to" - that person is MrBTongue from YouTube. Why? Because he talks sensibly, understandably, smartly and really likes video games and wants them to improve by following both good ideas from gaming itself but also compatible ones from other mediums. I also think it'd be good if he was motivated to make more videos, as his ones are brilliant but not that many. Finally, with Jim gone, there is a Monday slot that's just perfect for MrBtongue[footnote]The joke here is that his videos were often late and he'd often promise them for "Monday" until it sort of became a joke on its own.[/footnote]

I agree. And then maybe we'll start getting regular showings from him too. Seriously there's more gaps between content on his you tube channel than time between Guns & Roses albums. But yes absolutely he would make a fine addition to the crew.

If we are going to get a Ladies series, Ladies2die4 would be better than ALL of the suggestions thus far male or female.
Getting them to come to the escapist though would probably be impossible however.

You should realize that regardless of if you get an anti gg or a pro gg, people will leave. Touching anything to do with GG at all is toxic for or against and there will be people extremely unhappy with it. I personally don't think Total biscuit is good and have no idea what people see in him. LOL

The only way to win here is to get someone who is gg Neutral.

If the Escapist wanted to keep the same amount of content as they had before Jim left then they'd need to fill 2 weekly and 1 fortnightly video slot. What I'd like to see is: The Escapist reviving an old series, maybe Top Five or Reel Physics alongside bringing in a brand new source of talent to keep the freshness up.
