General Scales from Starfox Adventures. I spent that whole game getting ready to fight that asshole, but nooooooo. He gets brushed aside by that damn giant head.
They kinda did the same thing with Zant in LoZ Twilight Princess. I expected him to be this new ultimate zelda villian. He was sinister in every cutscene... until the one before his boss battle. THAT F***ING HIGH PITCHED SQUEAL!!! THOSE STUPID MOVES!!!

Oh god, you're right! That was the biggest Zelda-related letdown ever! I thought Zant was going to be an awesome villian and totally make up for having to fight Ganondorf again. Why the hell did they decide to turn him into a wacky, slapstick, high-pitched wuss? God damnit. Although that final fight with Ganondorf was really awesome.

New thread: Biggest villian letdowns.

(Ricardo Irving, Resident Evil 5)

His sea monster mutation doesn't count. That's a different boss/creature altogether. Irving himself, was so annoying and so damn ridiculous. Absolutely takes you out of the game, and I consider him pathetic.

That one Yeti boss from one of the Spyro games.

You walk up to fight him, it shows a cutscene of him stomping a bunch in his cave, and then a rock falls and crushes him.

Oooh, the horror.

They're in a massive amount of video games, and most of the time they're just there so you can move up from level one to level two. (If playing a non-RPG, substitute equal step up from horrendously lame -> somewhat less lame.)
It's just insulting to kill them as well, not only because of you going to the trouble of killing something that could hardly take the tiniest bit off your health bar if it had a crossbow, but also because of the loot, the horrible, horrible loot.

Hooray! A Rusty Dagger!

343 Guilty Spark....seriously.
I don't know, as a character i thought he was a pretty decent villan in that he knew exacly how to use you to get to his main goal. My vote goes to General Morden from the Metal Slug series. He just can't do anything right.

the brutal (Bowser)
Bowser was brutal? He go-karted with you on the weekends. In fact, he was probably just taking Peach off your hands, as a favor, so you could have a few hours away from the dumb *****! /rant

OT: I'd have to say:

The picture makes him look cooler than he was
I agree, Akuji was a little *****. However, his death is a little disturbing

The final boss in Mass Effect 2 was kind of a let down. I mean it was cool when it was first revealed but then suddenly I find myself wondering why this thing is what the Collectors were doing this whole time, they were just building a:

Human shaped Reaper? That's what their master plan was for the last two years? What the hell? Why? In Mass Effect 1 Sovereign was beating on the door of the Citadel desperately trying to once again kick-start the cycle of destruction and allow the Reapers to once again consume all life in the galaxy. Me, Ashley and Wrex/Garrus only barely managed to prevent this from happening by like a hair's breath. Wasn't it very clear that their plans had been set fully in motion by this point?
Plus at the end of Mass Effect 2 we see the Reapers clearly leaving Dark space and heading towards our galaxy ready to start the cycle again, so there certainly wasn't anything in the two years between Shepard's death and his return to prevent them from completing what they were pretty obviously trying to do in the first game.
So what's this thing? Were the Reapers just hanging out and waiting for Shepard to come back and decided in the meantime to invest in some small business venture based around processing humans?
I still love Mass Effect 2 but if Mass Effect 3 turns out to be as good as one would hope it would be then I get the feeling people are going to notice that the Reapers literally let their plan and soul purpose for existence be put on hold for two years just so that the second game can have a plot.

Plus considering it was a huge epic sized monster, the battle was so easy. There's something wrong about being able to survive a giant monster encounter just by ducking behind a chest high wall.
The rest of the mission was pretty cool though.

Seymour Guado from Final Fantasy X. It's kind of funny that for a game I love so much I can find so much that's wrong with it. He had a bit of potential, and his boss fights are slightly difficult, but as far as Final Fantasy baddies go he really doesn't do all that much.

He never gets remotely close to world domination and by the time you face him for the fourth and final time, he's just annoying (even characters in your party are rolling their eyes at him) he's a complete joke and a total failure as a villian

Any amount of gaint spiders in any game, they are so clique they make me want to vomit, any game that has them should be banned in Austraillia!

Bowser. What's his point? He's been doin the same thing for decades you'd think by now he'd get it's not working.
Though I was mildly amused when he swallowed Mario and co in Bowser's inside story.

The first level boss in ANY game.... Except retro ones like Double Dragon 3... Where every villain is a struggle to beat...
