James Earl Cash and Danny Lamb from the Manhunt series. Just regular guys forced to brutally kill legions of their fellow man.

The Nameless One. Everything in Torment is all about him. Every step of the way, he's confronting his past actions and shadows of his former self. He has the potential to become any of those people again. And, for the most part, they're pretty sick and twisted people (the big "Easter-Egg" revelation is that the "good guy" self is also a sick and twisted person, too).

I'm also going to add one un-vote for Kratos, because I think he's absolutely abyssmal.

Lloyd from Legend of Dragoon. But he could also be considered a Tragic Hero or Anti-Villain.

V... damn, this is only for gaming. I suppose my vote has to go to Wrex. That guy is awesome.

I've always defined anti-hero as a secondary character in a story line that achieves the same goals as the hero but with with morally questionable ways/reasons. I also use to describe a secondary character that tried to help but makes things worse depending on the context

In batman for example, batman would be the hero and catwoman would be the anti-hero, and the joker would be the villain.

I really can't think of too many anti-heros in games, the closest that comes to mind is knuckles in sonic 3.

In GTA4 I would classify Roman as an anti-hero do to him making things worse while trying to help

HK-47 from Star Wars: KOTOR. Easily the funniest, most blood thirsty and demented robot I have ever seen in a video-game. My hero.

I fear you have mis-understood the phrase Anti-Hero.

Mine is 'whats his name' from Resistance.
How is Nathan an Anti-Hero?
Yeah, last I check he risked his life single handedly blowing up a Chimeran tower 0.0 That's pretty fucking heroic to me.

In fiction, an antihero is a protagonist whose character and goals are antithetical to classical heroism.
There's an accurate definition of the word.

For me, 47 if up-there, definitely.

Roman from GTA IV isn't (he's not the protaganist, and doesn't act anti-heroically), but Niko certainly is. He's the protaganist, and you certainly symapathise with him while recognising that what he does and who he is is not heroic.

Riddick in 'Escape from Butcher's Bay'.

Max from the Sam and Max games - probably my favourite.

Strong Bad. It counts because he was recently featured in Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People. Or abbreviated, as a SBCG4AP.
