Anyway, true 50 meters wouldn't work in BF2. But at least SOME arming distance IS needed! I hope you can see that. And no, the AT is NOT useless in infantry as of now, it is actually a very powerful class, mainly due to the very easy-to-use weapon that one-shots any enemy infantry. And you can guide the damn thing, so with a little practice it's quite hard to dodge!
And I agree that the Handgrenade-to-face-then-boom thing is great, but it's hardly and excuse NOT to fix the other things. I mean, clearly the engine and creators are capable of great things when they can pull that stuff off, so why not do the arming-distances too? All I ask for is 10 meters, cause 10 meters shall set us free!
Also, AT weapons shouldn't get points for killing infantry, only people in vehicles. There, I just elimintated the annoyance of being AT-rocketed while your infantry!^^
Truth is tho, BF2 still has loads of balance issues, and I guess it will always be so. With every BF game really. Maybe, one day, someone will make the perfect game =3.
