The first episode I ever saw was "Love and Monsters" which had David Tennant, but he was only in it for like 3 seconds.

Christopher Eccleston, thankfully. He was a way underrated actor, and seemed to have more of a deepness to his acting then the other ones. But David Tennant had a lot of charisma, and Matt Smith has a great personality.

Once again, another first with Eccleston. However, my first episode was "End of the World". (I had had a long day the week before, and went to bed early despite protests from family, and hence missed Rose. They managed to keep me up the next week, and I became hooked).

I think it was the tenth doctor(not sure, he was the one with a sense of humor and wasn`t bald). I believe the first episode i watched was with the beast and the glowing globe cthulu slave things.

My very first Doctor Who episode was actually only a few weeks ago. I started watching Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper as the Doc and Rose in the first episode of the new season 1.

And though now I've gotten to David Tennant, whom I think is amazing, I still have a soft spot for Christopher.

And Daleks. Really like them Daleks.

No way in hell can I remember the name of the episode, I was but a lad back then. My first doctor was Dr. Douglas Ross, played by George Clooney.

The short doctor with the hair cut close to his head and wearing a leather jacket. I only watched a few episodes, but I liked him. I never got into the show.

Christopher Eccleston in "Rose". Yay netflix!

I'm trying to go through the classics, but I'm having trouble finding anything from the first series.

I was first introduced to the show with Eccleston, and really didn't care for him at let the show go. Then I was channel surfing and settled on Doctor Who during Tennant's tenure and thought, "Hey, this guy is better." Casually watched for a while, and then when Matt Smith was in the tubes to become the Doctor I thought, "This show is pretty good and it seems like a lot of Internet-y types like myself like it. I'll watch the next season closely."

Hooked.

"The Time of Angels", Series 5, 11th Doctor. Needless to say, I was hooked. The second episode I saw was "Silence in the Library."

I've been watching Doctor Who ever since. No, I haven't slept, blinked or stepped in shadows for the past year. Why?

William Hartnell, like a boss. I found the very first episodes of the old Doctor Who on DVD somewhere and decided to give it a try, so my first doctor was the first doctor, and my first episode was the first episode. It was very mid sixties England, and shot on a hilariously low budget, but it was pretty fun. As for my first experience with the new series, it was Christopher Eccleston, though I can't recall the episode. I've only really recently started watching the new series in earnest though.

Tom Baker (#4) in "The Brain of Morbius." Saw it on PBS way back in the early 80's while staying at an uncle's house. This episode also introduced me to Sarah Jane Smith (Elisabeth Sladen, RIP), my favorite Companion. A fairly silly story with a ridiculous Frankenstein monster (a renegade Time Lord was assembling a body for his...well, brain, out of bits of dead critters); but when you're 11 years old and there's more gore and naked horror on screen than anything you've seen in an American tv show, it makes an impression.

I was utterly hooked. And then crushed when I got home and found my local PBS affiliate didn't carry Doctor Who. Didn't see the show again until 1984, when Peter Davison was running the blue box.

Technically the 9th doctor, but it was the Christmas special that introduced David Tennant. My old music teacher put it on back in the 7th or 8th grade, and we watched the show whenever we weren't doing anything. That guy was pretty awesome.

I sort of remember mom watching Tom Baker episodes as a kid but it was always after my bedtime. [Give you an idea how little I was.] Officially though it was David Tennant in 'the Unicorn and the Wasp". I was channel surfing and stopped to see why this crazy cute guy was trying desperately to pantomime a woman into giving him random things in an old-fashioned kitchen.
Ten is my favorite. Eccleston is too much of a jerk and Smith isn't nearly as funny as he thinks he is.

Eccleston as the 9th Doctor in Rose.
This. Oh, I remember it well. The year was 2005. I was 11. My dad was watching the Syfy (then SciFi) channel, and was surprised to see Doctor Who coming on. He'd watched it as a kid, and when he realized it was a new series, he got really excited and called me in. I was like, "What are you watching?" He was like, "Doctor Who! Sit down, you're going to love this."

And now it's one of my if not my favorite show on television. Hooray for the British and their spectacular programming!

I have had a couple of false starts with doctor who, Seen parts of one episode or another but not a whole one till far later and got really into it. So I don't have a clear memory of which was first. I think the most likely two episode is Christopher Eccleston in the Wakeful Dead, and David Tennant in Girl in the Fireplace so I'm a bit of a mix for both 9 and 10 ^_^. But I am loving Matt Smith too, he's so crazy.
