I do see that some people need to chill out since they make a lot of aggressive posts often. The normal user will have the occasional aggressive post but it's nothing that would make me lose respect of them. I usually keep aggressive posts to myself, I will sometimes write them out but I always delete them before I post them. I guess it's mostly just caused by my hatred of being mean to others.

People are too quick to rage, particularly online. It is something I have never quite understood, since I just don't see the point in getting seriously angry unless someone is directly threatening you or those that you care for in some way. But... getting mad because someone disagreed with you or that George Lucas fucked up yet another one of your beloved characters? Annoying perhaps, but... not worth rage.

Well, see, there's a certain time of the year that every human being suddenly starts acting strangely and start to act a little bit dickish...my theory is it has something to do with the alignment and placement of the moon in comparison to other planets. This in turn leads to a decrease in lunar waves and radiation, which, due to withdrawals causes erratic behavior and aggression amongst people all over the world. Give it a few months, and humanity will be back to normal..

Kids being kids, a bit of this [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Group_polarization], a bit of misinformation, and a bit of people finding it gratifying to think they're the only one who's right and everyone else must be inferior.

I wouldnt be surprised to discover many people find my posts agressive.

Its not personal. When Im trying to make a point I attacked it and overemphasis it to try and make people see. I go into overdrive if I feel someone is being obtuse in seeing a point or presenting an argument with no proof.

Its the way it goes. I do it irl too. If its worth arguing about its worth getting worked up over.

I'd chalk it up to the spoken/written word. After all, an opinion does nothing until someone lets it be known.

Or so I choose to believe.

Actually here, it's not quite as bad as other places but the internet as a whole, it can be - in part - to the GIFT (Greater Internet Fuckward Theory).

The internet has created a sort of tribalism. No matter what you think or what interests you, there is always a group of people somewhere who agree with you -- and, overwhelmingly, a vast majority who DISagree with you. The result is this feudal aggression between groups whose interests don't align -- and because you're facing one another in a paradigm where your only channel of interaction is quite literally nothing but expressing opinions at one another in text form, there's bound to be hostility. Welcome to the information age.

I'm an aggressive person in everyday life, not just on the internet. People get on my nerves a lot with certain attitudes and this site has an abundance of people that have those attitudes. I stay because I like it here, I'm comfortable in my hate almost, I've been here a while and I've grown accustomed to people.

I'm chilled but I'm angry too.

I actually come here to chill out, because while people on here can be aggressive and have been known to use it like a personal blog, it's nothing compared to Reddit, which is basically this, multiplied by 10, kicked up to 11 and if you do not fit into the strict criteria of the ideal redditor, then your comments and submissions will be cast down, never to be seen.

This place feels fucking paradise compared to Reddit's community.

Here it is!

OT: Havn't really noticed any hostilities... Unless you count the serial killer RP, that can get violent. (Killer kills people) D=

I welcome them, tbh. Unless they go completely overboard and are out of the sense of reason, it can make whole debates and scenarios that seem pretty stale and uninteresting otherwise pretty kinetic and lively. Although, a lot of feelings may be hurt and the instigators will probably be banned.

Nevertheless, a good balance of diversity between posters help in making a site's boards lively enough, imo. However, I'd really cringe at the thought of lurking a board solely filled with angry, foam-at-the-mouth residuals of society who can't even support an opinion without some sort of tongue-in-cheek insult completely irrelevant to what they're trying to talk about more than half the time they actually make a post; same goes with the idea of trying to post in a board where everyone is literally angels to one another and has to follow up every erosive comment with a passive-aggressive apology and whatnot, lol.

I know it sounds a little picky of me, but finding a decent forum that has a community I'm actually fond of is surprisingly not that difficult, if you bother to look hard enough. :p

Whatever the case, I might be drifting from the point here, as well; to make a long story short, I personally believe that, sometimes, 'aggression' in posts are somewhat fine (in a yin-yang sort of way), except when it's just plain 'ol bickering without any real substance or the topic that's being discussed is something in which anger is a pretty inappropriate emotion to be responding with.

But of course, that's just my opinion.

It's simple, people want to declare their opinions, they (we) want others to hear us and respect our opinions. Nothing to elaborate really. I believe everyone is like this, though I could be wrong.

It's because everyone else is WRONG and dammit why won't you people liste- oh... sorry :)

It's tricky tho, sometimes passion or force of feeling can come across as agression when really it's just that they feel strongly about a topic.

It's because deep down inside everyone there's something that burns, most of us given the level of annonymity, that the internet does, feel less resistance to the urge to cut loose some of it.

Take it or leave it, humans are a warlike and agressive breed, and when it comes down to it, the stronger a person's hold on any particular opinion, the more agressive they will get in any case where that opinion is questioned, especially when they know that they're pretty safe from the threat of having their bones broken, or life taken in the defense or attack of said opinions.

I generally find ignorance irritating, although I mostly start debates or little arguments with the intention of opening other people's minds or helping someone else grow, and learn about a wider spectrum of this greatly expansive world, also it helps me learn and grow to see other people's opinions and to strengthen my debating skills.

Sometimes I post things to straight up help someone out in a situation I've been through hundreds of times and thusly have a pretty good grasp on the intricacies therein... Seems a fair number of people fail to see my posts as helpful, hell some have even seen them as inflammatory, though no offense was implied, fortunately the mods here are human and not always unwilling to forgive accidental missteps, and trodden toes on my part, I speak like a padded hammer sometimes... Though if I have caused undue harm to someone's feelings, or have spoken out of turn I apologize and rectify the missunderstanding as directly and quickly as I can.

:p I also have this knack of text walling even when I'm trying to be brief... I know it's annoying, I'm trying to curb that.
