The reason for all the hate on halo is they are turning into nintendo and fucking sticking some extra thing in then calling it Halo:ODST then they are bringing halo reach and they already have halo wars which looks like a steaming pile of dog turd next to the Command and Conquer series, Thing is they said they were making Halo 3 and that was going to be the end... obviously not, they are trying to milk everything they can out of the halo franchise, plus the guns and the sounds in the halo game are shit

The amount of people who say Halo is an atrocity to gaming is preposterous and I want to know why? I can understand Halo 3 but Halo was innovative console-wise, Halo 2 had a good storyline with the Arbiter, Halo 3 at least had great multiplayer and if you have all the backstory it's a great story. Now I don't know if I'm biased because my memories are rose tinted with the memory of me and my dad playing through co-operatively but I played through it recently played through it and loved every second.
What is this? Halo Fucking fanboy week or something? This is like the 8th time in this week alone a "new thread" with THE EXACT SAME NAME!!!! has been created. -.-
Hey! I searched and there was nothing there was only something about Halo 3 so I was obviously the first

Well wouldn't you milk a multi million dollar franchise to it's very last breath. They're a company first and a game developer second

-Edit- My apologies... that link just takes you to the search screen...
Well in any case, type this into the search bar.
Why all the hate on Halo? You will get so many hits, you'll want to kill yourself for reviving it.
Also, you are FARRRRR from being "obviously the first".

It had it's time in gaming history, it made it's contribution, (It's large contribution, but still) but now it's just corporate money grubbing.

No you are fucking not. Enough of the threads. Honestly, if you would have even glanced at the front page you would have seen at least three "Why All The Halo Hate" threads. Enough.

For me, I don't hate Halo. What I hate is how it is heralded as THE FPS of all time by so many people who haven't played a fraction of its competition.

The original Halo had VERY poorly designed levels, a rather watered down generic story, and controls that felt like the game was taking place under water. The multiplayer wasn't very inspired either (which many of its blind fanboys claim was revolutionary). Pretty much everything it did had been done before and done better.

All that said, Halo was a solid title with few technical flaws and from a development standpoint was very well done.

Things just went downhill with Halo2 and Halo3.

ive never played the first 2 halo's so im basing this on halo 3....
i dont think its a bad game.. infact its a slightly above average first person shooter... what does annoy me is that its known as what makes the xbox 360.. and i dont think it deserves that title as there are far better exclusive tites out there.. but this is coming from a person who doesnt particularly enjoy online shooters (with the exception of team fortress 2) and when i do play it online i just dont see what the big deal is... i understand that people adore the game and i respect that, every game has a fanbase... but the fact its so well reviewed and its being waved in front of ps3 owners faces during console arguments make it sound like its the second coming of jesus.. which it just isnt..

I know tons of people who don't like halo 3 but I only know a few who just don't like halo in general I quite liked 1 and 2.

Meh. In my opinion, it's because I played it, put the controller down, and went off to do something more interesting. It's a generic, boring game that's brought nothing new to the genre, then someone has the nerve to come up to me and call it "innovative". Innovative. Did the meaning of the word change or something? Blergh. It's Warhammer 40k and the US Marines' lovechild for frig's sake.

Hey, just came back from Gamescom in Cologne.

Got to check Halo OSDT multiplayer in the main halls.
The whole firefight thing.

And a 'behind closed doors' session of the single player.

They actually admit changing nothing to the engine.
It looked like a decent game, but... Well, I enjoyed Halo, in LAN-multiplayer with friends (heck, any game is enjoyable that way), but I don't know what it exactly is that the fans worship about this game.

Hopefully not master chief, 'cause he's out. ODST is with marines, starts just a little bit before the beginning of Halo 2, with the whole prophet thing. No life regeneration, no equipment (those deployable thingies from HALO 3, I believe), lesser moon jumping, No seeing the enemies on a radar, no dual weild.

Two new weapons though... and the visor-thingy that provides environmental analysis and night vision. Goin' a bit more tactical, eh? Wonder how fanboys and haters will reply to this...

The intro made me think about the beginning of Killzone 2.
Atmosphere was the stereotype oneliner-talk within a group of 'men', action-stuff, but team-ased. giving each other nicknames, you being the rooking, black guy offering comic relief... all clichés are there

Saying how they altered New Mombasa, switching the classic Halo-neon glow feel with a 'film noir'-atmosphere... Not completely sure on that one. Sure, the city - which serves as a hub, yet another subsides to the 'open world'-concept - is a bit destroyed and the lights aren't working. So?

Two discs by the way, one containing Halo OSDT, another one containing the multiplayer of Halo 3, just that, the multiplayer, with 2 or 3 new maps.

Pre-orders can play with sgt. Johnson in firefight.

Hold on to your disc by the way, 'cause it'll ensure you a a beta of Halo Reach somewhere next year. Cheap trick to stop people from the buy/play/sell-routine, I bet. They hate the whole 'second handed games'-stuff y'know, doesn't earn them a thing.

Also, the rookie (main character) is a 'silent type', you know what I mean. Hell, they even joke about it in game. I laughed, but I don't know if it was because of the irony or not. Oh, and the New Mombasa AI will help you, probably some Cortana-surrogate. Except it's in the environment, not in your suit...

Milking it out a bit, yes? no?
