Oh really? The White Stripes wouldn't be the same without Jack White, Foo Fighters wouldn't be the same without Dave Grohl, sure you can, in theory, replace them but it wouldn't be the same band.Fumbles said:Anyone is replacable, but would they be better without him is the real question. Look at bands like AcDc and Black Sabbath.Eagle Est1986 said:You sir are just plain old wrong. Muse can put on a show like no one else I've seen.
Also, to the stupid people saying get rid of Matt Bellamy, you realise that he writes most of the songs as well as singing and either playing lead guitar or piano. He is not a replaceable member.
lol. It's really impressive, I must say, hitting those 2 notes over and over again, and then moving down the string and doing it again.army-88 said:I cant stand the lead singers voice but I would guess people listen to them because their music is pretty good.(As seen in that impressive opening lick in the Asassin video that was just posted)
Because no other band uses a guitar. Man, that's original.Lichenthrope said:I love the instrumentals personally. I find theres no point in asking why people like certain bands because everyone has diffrent tastes or they are 12 year old girls who are completely impressionable to the point where the believe the Jonas Brothers are actually artists.
Did you even listen to that album?Crash486 said:They're a good band? /thread
Don't judge them off of the Black holes and revelations, it's really their worst album. I can guarantee if they put out another flop like that the love for muse will tone down a good bit.
If you want to hear their good stuff go back to Absolution, Hysteria and Time is Running out are great songs. Origins of symmetry is pretty good too, I honestly don't know what happened to them with Black Holes. Starlight is just an awful song, and Knights of Cydonia is no prize either. The best song off that album is Map of the Problematique, and even that is pretty sub-par for muse.
Didn't say they were my favorite, but Coheed is.JanatUrlich said:Lol dude the Mars Volta are prettu much just Muse with a bit of Thin Lizzy thrown in there
And I dunno, I like Muse because I like Muse. It's kind've a difficult question to answer. I like the drums, I like the riffs and I like Matt Bellamy's voice
I also like the Mars Volta but the rest of your favourite bands can suck my non-existant balls.
Ill take you up on that offer ;DJanatUrlich said:Lol dude the Mars Volta are prettu much just Muse with a bit of Thin Lizzy thrown in there

Yes I listened to it extensively trying to convince myself it was good, but its not. I'm willing to bet you've probably never listened to any of their other albums if you think its good. It's just... not muse, its like a shell of their former greatness. Their singles were all horrible, exo-politics is... ok but it's preachy nonsense lyrics kind of ruin it. In my opinion assassins sounds like it's trying to hard and misses the mark. It also has silly preachy lyrics.Mr Frogurt said:Did you even listen to that album?Crash486 said:They're a good band? /thread

Invincible, Exo-Politics and assassin are like some of their best songs!
Dude, I have listen to all of their albums and maybe that album as a whole was not as good as some of their others but Muse has always been quite a preachy band - not to the extent of Black Hole and Revaluations. But hey! who caresCrash486 said:Yes I listened to it extensively trying to convince myself it was good, but its not. I didn't compare them, I implied that I do listen to higher pitched vocals, but I just dont like his singing. I know that they are different.Valiance said:Oh, and OP, I really like Rush, Dream Theater, and Tool, and honestly, I don't see how you can even compare them to Muse since they're much different, with different sounds, messages, and styles, and designed for a trained type of ear - not to be a radio hit.
Uhm... The Mars Volta is absolutely nothing like muse. The only similarity is they both have high pitched lead singers. Musically, they're polar opposites. TMV is prog-alternative with heavy jazz/latin influences. Muse is just alternative rock, they follow the standard "Verse-Chorus-Bridge" song structure. Comparing the two is like comparing Blink-182 to Dream Theater.JanatUrlich said:Lol dude the Mars Volta are prettu much just Muse with a bit of Thin Lizzy thrown in there

I don't like black holes, it's by far the worst album muse has ever produced. It's not just bad for a muse album, its bad for a rock album in general. It's almost "My Chemical Romance" bad.Mr Frogurt said:Dude, I have listen to all of their albums and maybe that album as a whole was not as good as some of their others but Muse has always been quite a preachy band - not to the extent of Black Hole and Revaluations. that doesn't mean you shouldn't listen to those 3 songs I referred you to on page 1.Fumbles said:Crash486 said:Uhm... The Mars Volta is absolutely nothing like muse. Clap...Clap... That deserves a cookie..
I don't think so at all. I think that the Mars Volta sound pretty damn similar to Muse in many aspects! But whatever man, it's all gravy.Crash486 said:Uhm... That's a lame argument, especially if you're a Coheed fan. I love Coheed too, but hearing "ZOMG he soundz like a gurlz hehe coheed is sux0rz" gets old.Fumbles said:Honestly, I cannot see why people love them so much? I really like Coheed and Cambria, Mars Volta, Dream Theater, Rush, Unkle, Tool, and so forth, but I cannot stand his voice, Their instrumentals seem uninspired to me, they just seem bland to me.
Now I know we are all entitled to our own opinions, but I would like a Muse fan explain to me why they are so "awesome". I also would like to hear if someone shares my same feelings for them as well. Let it begin!
