Why all the love for Muse?

Honestly, I cannot see why people love them so much? I really like Coheed and Cambria, Mars Volta, Dream Theater, Rush, Unkle, Tool, and so forth, but I cannot stand his voice, Their instrumentals seem uninspired to me, they just seem bland to me.

Now I know we are all entitled to our own opinions, but I would like a Muse fan explain to me why they are so "awesome". I also would like to hear if someone shares my same feelings for them as well. Let it begin!

Hell, makes more sense than Coldplay. Chris Martin can't sing, and yet they're immensly popular. What the hell is going on?

I cant stand the lead singers voice but I would guess people listen to them because their music is pretty good.(As seen in that impressive opening lick in the Asassin video that was just posted)

I actually find them quite bland but I can see why other people like them. The music is very well structured.

I love the instrumentals personally. I find theres no point in asking why people like certain bands because everyone has diffrent tastes or they are 12 year old girls who are completely impressionable to the point where the believe the Jonas Brothers are actually artists.

You like coheen and cambria and your knocking the dude from muse for his voice? Sorry i just dont get that.

EDIT: not a fan of any of these bands listed.
I know its weird, but Claudio's voice grew on me. I used to hate Coheed with a passion, now I really dig them. To me it feels that Muse trys to be Avant Garde, which defeats the whole purpose. Atleast Claudio is telling an awesome ass story.

I love Muse just because everyone of there songs appeals to me. Same way I like bread. You, however, may not. But it's an opinion.
Which is my point, I know its my opinion, I was just trying to see why others like them, maybe they will grow on me like Coheed did.

Some people love them, you don't, it's not really shocking that a band won't be to everyone's tastes.
I for instance don't like Dragon force, some people do, I wouldn't start a thread about it though.
As for my oppinion on Muse, I haven't listened to them enough to really know what I think of them.

I don't like their new stuff very much but their older songs have some great bass lines and heavy/unique riffs. The lyrics aren't bad either. I'm not a fan of Bellamy's voice either to be honest, but I still enjoy the instrumental parts of their earlier work.

They're a good band? /thread

Don't judge them off of the Black holes and revelations, it's really their worst album. I can guarantee if they put out another flop like that the love for muse will tone down a good bit.

If you want to hear their good stuff go back to Absolution, Hysteria and Time is Running out are great songs. Origins of symmetry is pretty good too, I honestly don't know what happened to them with Black Holes. Starlight is just an awful song, and Knights of Cydonia is no prize either. The best song off that album is Map of the Problematique, and even that is pretty sub-par for muse.

They have grown on me over time. I never used to like them that much, but I picked up their Black Holes and Revelations album and slowly but surely I really started to get into them. Their music is much more complex than a first listen tends to reveal I think. PLus it has an almost trance like quality, to the point where it kind of mesmerises me sometimes. I have lots of other much more favoured bands but they are improving in my estimation every time I see them.

They are also apparently the live equivalent of a multiple orgasm if their gig reviews are anything to go by.

I will give their other albums a listen to then.

I only like that feeling good song. Other than that, I'm not a big fan.
