Because if I wanted to see a kid play the same awkward teenager who loses his virginity in every movie he's ever been in I'd go see the new Justin Long movie. At least he has a little bit of range...

At least that's my reasoning.
I agree, just something about that guys face makes me want to punch him...
Well, he gets beat up a lot in Scott Pilgrim...win?

While I don't dislike him at all, I will say that he has allowed himself to be heavily type cast so far in his career, which is understandably one of his demeaning factors.

Clint Eastwood is also a badass, there's hardly a comparison there.

Yeah, but Clint Eastwood plays a badass every time.
You and I have very different perceptions of badassery. To me, that looks like a teenager running around with a very badly animated lightsaber. I think Dirty Harry could blow his testicles off every time.

thats not badass. no badass ever has that face when wielding a fiery katana.

As many have said, i dont hate him. Is just his voice and total lack of acting talent, unless of course hes like steve carell and deliberately playing dislikable character styles, if thats the case then hes doing a great job..

I don't mind him. I think he is pretty cute and the fact he plays similar characters doesn't bother me. He seems like a really nice kid so hating him is stupid.

I don't like his films. But he is only starting out and I would bet lots of money he will be remembered differently in 20 years than as he is now.

Pretty much that. He seems unwilling to take risks. He seems like he could be funny if he tried something different. But he keeps going back to the awkward geek teenager.

They won't stop putting him in movies where he's suppose to be the voice of today's youth.

No one is like him, that or no one wants to be, or they are and don't want to admit it....=/

Until I read through this thread I had no idea of who he was, but now that I see him, I have to agree that he indeed looks incredibly punchable at all hours of the day.

Assuming he makes it that far. Most actors dont see the 10 year mark never mind 20 year mark.

Prime example: Alex Winter, (guy that played Bill in Bill and Ted, i so would love to see a 3rd movie of that some day.), he pretty much disappeared from acting aside from some minor roles and some TV stuff. He instead turned to directing.

His face makes me want to corrupt him in ways that only a grown woman who would hit on both your mother and father when meeting the family could.

I think he's pretty damn awesome. I don't know how you can hate him, he seems like such a nice guy.

michael cera is so unnecessarily awkward in his movies, and that coupled with the fact that it is the only character he ever plays makes my blood boil when people talk about his "artistic depth".

Well Cera has already made the 10 year mark.

Then he's lucky. But if he doesn't get his act together (no pun intended) and improve then he wont see 20.
