I don't really follow what is exclusive and what is not, i have always had 360, my friend has always had PS3. And dont worry, when i had no 360 and no live, PSN for COD5 worked just great thanks. I will judge games by their developer and consoles by their support ty very much, threads like this just exist to make fanboys.

Yes the PS3 is getting more exclusives now - but lets face it - they haven't had the easiest ride so far, the 360 had more exclusives, and now the PS3 is retaliating. To be honest though the amount of "must-have" exclusives is still lacking IMO.
This. It's about time, though.

Because the 360 has failed as a gaming console. It has good games, but it has failed as a hardware device.

Devs know this, and they're coming to their senses.

Thing is, exclusive titles are like live theatre. Everyone goes into a panic when there isnt any about, but doesnt give a s**t when its there. You only have to look at the most popular/favouribly reviewed titles to see that most of our favourites are cross platform, and unless your a social cripple you probably know someone who owns the consoles you couldnt afford/couldnt be bothered to get - I own a 360, but love playing resistance2 and Little Big Planet-solution? Take some beer round my mates house.

Not be insulting, but that whole rant seems kinda silly. I mean the only reason companies do anything like exclusive DLC at all is for the benjamins. I seriously doubt they care what your "right reasons" are. Let's take your Fallout 3 DLC for example. Let's propose the following situation:

You're Bethesda. You've made fallout 3 for all platforms to solid success. I don't have the exact numbers but let's say that Xbox360 outsold PS3 2 to 1. With PC running a close 3rd. Now you're looking at DLC to develop...

Microsoft comes to you and says "hey bethesda, we'll give you eleventy billion dollars to make the DLC for only the Xbox and the PC"

Now, you were going to develop for Xbox and PC anyway, because Xbox was the biggest seller and the port to PC is a fairly quick and easy process (or vice-versa, take your pick). At this point you have 2 options:

1) Give M$ the finger because you're afraid the 'net is going to call you greedy, spend the development time and resources porting to the unfriendly PS3 architecture, only to recieve fewer sales due to the smaller install base (least-sold system domestically, and least sold copies of your game), and the reduction in profit from the developer fees for DLC on the PSN. Maybe you put your chances at making the money back off the DLC to be, optimistically: 75%

2) Take the eleventy billion dollars from MS. Do what you were going to do anyway and not lose a thing other than a few sales on the PSN that the money from MS is making up for anyway. Put development resources on task of new game development.

Bird in the hand worth 2 bush, which choice do you take?

Oh and let's not forget that in this scenario you're a business that has to make money to pay employees and creditors, not some guy that only has a PS3.
If I were running Bethesda?

Well, if I was feeling 'moral' I'd tell them no, and release the DLC on all formats.

If I was feeling a bit of an arsehole, I'd smile, nod, thank them for the money, and inform them that's the last game of mine they ever get. So, Microsoft get exclusive Fallout 3 DLC, PS3 (and only PS3) gets the rest of the series.

Let me give an example of why; I have reached the point where I will not buy a game made by Rockstar, because I'm sick of their shit. By contrast, I've realised that every game I own / have played by Insomniac rates very, very highly. As such, if I see a game is made by Insomniac, odds are I will take the plunge and buy it.

Bethesda? Nah. Why should I? They've shown no desire for my business by putting business before customers, so if I see two games that look equally interesting and one is Bethesda and one is Insomniac, I know which one I'd buy.

The notion of 'Exclusives' is one that pisses me off muchly.

I can understand a 'technical' Exclusive (ie: where the other machine just won't cut it), and I accept the notion of 'brand' Exclusives (if Sony make it, why would they give it to the opposition?), but where Microsoft pissed me off the most is how they bought out the likes of the Fallout 3 DLC.

Is there any technical reason the DLC can't be on the PS3? No. The PS3 seems to actually run a superior version of Fallout 3 (based on the untold thousands of bug reports that litter the internet). Therefore, the DLC should be available on the PS3.

Is there any 'brand' reason? No. Fallout 3 is on the PS3. Therefore, it is multiplatform and the DLC should be available.

So, we're left with Microsoft playing the Arsehole and hogging it. That doesn't make me want a 360, it makes me want to see Microsoft crash and burn as punishment for their arrogant ways.
...
But hogging a game just for the sake of not letting the other guy have it? Bad form...
Then you're going to hate this:
PS3 IS getting inFamous and Uncharted 2 exclusively but all the DLC for those games are 360 exclusives. If MS can't have it, than nobody will.
Except for The Joker.
How does the song go?
The Batmobile lost Unreal and the Joker got away.
Hey.

The 360 has all the exclusive DLC for multiplatform games, and sony has the good exclusive games. But in all seriousness, the Xbox has Left 4 Dead, so that's enough to make me a bit jealous. But the PS3 does balance it out with MGS4.

Speaking of MGS4 and 360, Guess what? New bloody rumours about the 360 getting MGS4 have surfaced. Thanks to the new advert, which if someone could link, that would be great. I know that what I'm saying isn't directly linked to the topic, but i don't see how a stormy meadow means "360 gets MGS4" or even "MGS" at all.

BECAUSE EVERY ONE HATES YOU AND YOU XBOX. A LOT OF GOOD GAMES COME OUT, JUST NO ONE TELLS YOU BECAUSE THEY HATE YOU.

Begone Troll!

And that was totally uncalled for, with what you said.

Umm, shouldn't we wait until after E3 before saying which console has the best exclusives?

Honestly? Because I think developers are beginning to realize, ?Holy hell, I can actually program some kickass games on this black monolith! Who knew?!? That and Sony is finally catching their marketing stride. About bloody time too!

Unfortunately for Xbox owners, they have to contend with the Microsoft business plan? i.e., shovel out a ton o? crap mixed with some gem, then when everyone is enjoying themselves, start over from scratch. That?s why I switched from Xbox to Playstation and (with few exceptions like Fable 2) haven?t looked back.

Ive been an opponent of microsoft's agressive marketing strategy for years. Even before the 360 came out. I didnt need much time to think wich console i'd buy over this. And I rub my hands and gloat everytime microsoft gets a financial kick in the shins.

There's a thing called karma, and I'm not saying that it's governing the whole "PS3 is FINALLY getting a slew of good exclusives" act, but I'm pretty sure it's just a shock at first because most XBOX players expect that the hottest new PS3 exclusive will be on their console too(Tekken 6, Final Fantasy XII, Unreal Tournament 3, blah blah blah)... and in this case, they aren't.
As far as exclusive series goes, Final Fantasy isn't one that the PS3 can hold claim to anymore anyway.

And to OP, what about L4D? Yes it's on the PC to console exclusive-wise it's firmly in camp Xbox.

Seriously, it feels like the Xbox 360 is getting left behind in the exclusives department. Whereas the PS3 is having a field day with titles like "God of War III", "inFamous" and "Uncharted 2: Among Thieves". The last big Xbox 360 exclusives were "Gears of War 2" and "Fable 2" and that was last year! I'm sure there have been some Xbox exclusives I may have overlooked, but that's probably because they weren't significant. Right now I kinda wish I'd bought a PS3 instead of my 360. Hopefully the new Halo: ODST will make up for the relatively small lineup us Xbox owners have been left with this year.
You must be joking...

Gears 2 and Fable 2, that's all you can think of? What about Halo 3? What about Fallout3 (if this was released for PS3, just disregard that). PS3 has hardly any good games exclusively.

Xbox360, starting in June will have Battlefield 1943 coming out, Operation Flashpoint 2, Call of Duty 6, etc. etc.

@ XChevelle24.

You didn't search hard enough. Stop trying to say which console has which exclusives. It only makes you look stupid (no offense)

Unless you plan on playing each and every one, it's a waste of time.

Honestly, I've learned that listing off random exclusives to your console really isn't helping at all.

Dude Gears of War 2 was released in November of 2008, 6 months ago, same with Fable 2. Not really last year. Besides, do you really judge how good a console is doing based solely on the exclusive titles released for it. There's a bunch of great games for the 360. Just because they're not exclusive doesn't mean it's getting left behind.
This is 2009, that was 2008. It was indeed last year.
Not a full year buddy.
It is indeed 2009. Say whatever you want, but it is a year.

Ummm as far as I know fallout3 is on PS3 and PC, PC has DLC and the ability to mod. BF1943 is coming to all formats again as with CoD6.

Excellent lineup of exclusives.. typical 360 person think that everthing is exclusive for them. I think 90% of people think that Fallout is a 360 exclusive.
