Cry about:

teaser trailers, servers, multiplayer facets, single player length, menus, gameplay, graphics, cost, release dates, loading time, glitches, entire games...

We are all guilty of this in one way or another. Some of us are less crying, and more just minor grumbling. Some of it is deserved, most of it is not.

Do you know what it takes to make a game? Probably not. The decisions and compromises that have to be made? No.

Some things deserved are cost of some games, like "why did ODST cost full price? We already bought most of that game once." And "please fix the Model 1887 Shotguns in MW2."

The crying that is undeserved is things like "well that teaser looked like garbage, so im not going to get the game." and, of course, we know the infamous PC protesters, who personally made me sad to say I am a gamer.

I will admit, yes, i have complained about a few things, but i have faith in developers to improve and fix things and maybe even make a great game.

So can we please stop the CONSTANT BITCHING???

Dear sir, I would like to make a complaint about people who complain. I'm very tired of hearing them and it's about time something were done about it.

I find people who complain about people who complain about people who complain irritating.

Give a man an inch and he'll take a mile.

The majority of mainstream gamers have become all too spoiled nowadays. It can't be helped.

Whatever, go whine elsewhere, cry-baby.

I give you 10 irony points though, were it intentional or not.

Don't you see that this thread is inherently ironic? It's a thread COMPLAINING about COMPLAINING.

Gamers complain because they are human. Everyone complains and everything gets complained about. Turn on the news and it just people bitchin' about something they don't like. It's the same thing everywhere. The best you can do is slap them upside the head when you can and ignore them when you can't.

Seeing how unavoidable that is everytime someone points out excessive complaining, the irony is so stale that it hardly warrants a mention. It's not amusing when it's so consistent.

When did we enter a society where criticising stuff became a bad thing?

Yes, so it's certainly good for us to pretend everything shovelled into our laps pleases us. God help that anyone should desire anything to be better than it is. Fuck, let's just go back to sitting in caves trying to work out if rocks are edible.

You forgot DLC.

What I really don't understand is this whole "if I don't like it it shouldn't exist" mentality that has infested the boards. If you don't like something fine. But don't make it sound like devs have busted down your door and held a gun to your head forcing you to buy it. Or that the market can't handle games or consoles you don't like. Unless of course you are buying a million copies of the same game week after week.

Gamers are (in general) spoiled whinny middle class white kids who are immature(why there playing games) and think whining will make stuff happen. Luckily, good websites have mods that drop large and painful hammers on their heads when said people complain on internet forums. This is one such site.

Well it's no single reason; first it's simply easer for us to complain as we frequent froums more often than most demographics; we are used to being given things that we didn't really earn and finaly we have gone from getting everything to getting screwed over, thats quite a quick transition. Of course lumping any large diverse group into a single lable is going to make your generlisations less accurate than normal, which isn't saying much I suppose.
Also I expect you could answer this question better than any of us, why are you so whiny?

I think I have the right to complain when I pay $100 for a product I'm unhappy with. Is that valid? I THINK SO!
