Possibly because lesbians wouldn't actually be interested in them IRL.

Or they are afraid of naked guys.
Are you personally afraid of naked guys?
Well, there is the Dave Chappelle rule of porn...

The one wang per fantasy rule...preferably one's own...

Also the menage a trois fantasy as well.

To be fair, the shoe's on the other foot with all my lady friends who are into the yaoi, or shows like Supernatural with sexy male leads; they just picture themselves in the sandwich.

I'm a straight man and I never really been turned on by 2 girls banging each other. Can someone explain the appeal? I guess it's because a lesbian will never be attracted to me or even a fantasy is why I'm not turned on.
You're a straight man and the idea of seeing not one but two naked girls isn't doing it for you?

Because you get to watch two hot bodies go at it with each other instead of a woman and a man's sausage.

It makes more sense when you actually think about it. A straight guy is attracted to women, he is turned off by seeing another man's privates/naked body. So while two different urges battle inside the man's body, lesbian sex is twice the desired sex without the repulsive image of the one you aren't attracted to.

In regards to Supernatural, some of us prefer to picture ourselves in the sandwich but just as many if not more (like me) prefer the leads with each other. 'Cuz if you're gonna hate ANY woman that's not Ellen, Jo or Jody in this fandom and you have 2 X-chromosomes, you have to exclude yourself as well.

I love Supernatural (less of late). I have to agree with you, even being a guy. The writers didn't do themselves any favors, as few of the females are sympathetic characters.

Worst case was Bella. I know she was supposed to be some tragic thief with a heart of gold, but I found myself cheering in her final moment in the show when Dean told her "I'll see you in Hell."

Even Eric Kripke griped against Sara Gamble on that one.

I would say it's also the fact that with 2 women, everything you are looking at is something you find sexually appealing. You aren't suddenly being shown an extreme closeup of some guys junk, instead of, you know, the woman you find attractive. No matter what angle or position or whatever, the camera is always being pointed at a naked woman, which for a straight guy, is appealing.

That's my feelings on it anyway.
I used to wonder about this when my male friend would practically call us girls heathens for liking slash/yaoi even when it was just about anime guys or video games but would act all holier-than-thou if we caught him with real lesbian porn. The double-standard was downright annoying.
Generalizations based on personal experience time!
Yeah. I've seen a lot of hypocrisy around lesbians and gay men. Most girls seem to be fine with lesbians and bisexuals but a lot of guys seem to be really insecure and intimadated by gay or bisexual men.
I guess it's that society sort of trains men to want to take. They want to pursue and more often then not it is the man that advances on the object of their desire, the women (not saying this is right or always true but society does train people to be this way.) I guess the idea is that with women, if someone approaches them and they aren't interested they simply decline. They are 'trained' by society to be able to react if they are chosen by someone undesirable. This skills translates pretty easily if a straight women is being hit on by a lesbian. They'll just politely decline like they would if a man they had no interest in pursued them. If they are interested they accept. This is a sweeping generalization but there is some truth to it.

Most men just aren't equipped to the idea of being approached, especially if what they are being approached by is undesirable (a gay man). It's just stupid all around. It boils down to a percentage of men not being as prepared to deal with other people's advances. If they aren't prepared for a women to advance on them it's pretty simple because they may be attracted to them. But if a man hits on them? Suddenly wild thoughts of being sexually harassed appear in their minds. There's also the fear that because they are being pursued by gay man it means that they 'look' or 'act' like a gay person does. And of course they're supposed to keep up the persona of being manly and a women magnet. And being 'gay' makes them look like a sissy for some reason. Not all men are like this but there is a large percentage that are.

It kind of makes being a gay man a little bit hazardous compared to being a lesbian. I mean both orientations have their ups and downs. And lesbians are also treated unfairly for many reasons. I'm not saying that either group has it better or worse. But being gay you are always afraid of offending someone. If I find a straight man attractive it is social suicide to approach them or hit on them because they may take offense. Then who knows what will happen? If a lesbian hits on a straight women they'll just treat them like they do everyone who approaches them despite their disinterest. Men just aren't as prepared.

Sorry if this comes off as a gay man's whining. It's just been my observation over the last few years. It obviously isn't universally true and I don't want to come off as ungrateful or anything.

Why? It's simple really; there are more sexy curves, more breasts to ogle at, more sexy moaning, and no guy parts blocking what you really want to see.

But that's just me.

Imagine you're in the mood to bring ten million sperm cells into the world. Happens pretty often, you say. You open up your favorite .com and start going with one of the first page videos.

Well, you don't like the guys that are banging the girls in most of the videos you choose. Some are belligerent to the women, some remind you of someone from high school, some have really annoying voices, some are just plain nasty. You can't do it, there's only so many slapping balls and facial closeups and watching the necessary seven minute blowjob on a ten minute anal video that your penis can take.

So, you decide to skip around that. Lose the man for a woman, go for twice the breasts and none of the balls and chesthair. Win-win, your penis is happy.
Pretty much this i think.

As one who finds females having pleasure attractive, doubling the numbers simply makes the experience more appealing.
It's a beautiful thing.

For me at least it's about the aesthetics. I like to watch pretty people doing the nasty, and that's sometimes harder to find with girl/guy. Women in porn are more consistently attractive than their male counterparts, so with girl/girl I'm just more likely to find two pretty people, rather than one stunning and one not so much that is so common in "straight" porn

Are we differentiating between "lesbians" and "lesbian pornography" here? Because there's a couple of different things going on.

Lesbians: Tricky, but I like femininity. That's a horrible thing to try and pin down, but the upshot is that lesbian relationships (or at least fictional depictions thereof - I don't think I know any actual lesbians) are always keen to emphasise those values, like caring and tenderness, that appeal to my horrifically introverted self. I know I'm going to be friendzoned for the next five years (see Mid Boss above), so lesbianism has always seemed the most effective way of vicariously finding that dream myself. Plus, you know...

I'd be an awesome lesbian. I like tits and fanny as much as the next girl, and I've got nine Sarah McLachlan albums.

Lesbian porn: MOAR BOOBZ, plus less risk of being mid-stroke when there's a dick on the screen. Ladyparts may be scary, but manparts are just plain ugly.

You're making the assumption that all men find lesbians attractive. I can only speak for myself, but I find them disgusting.

What a lot of people fail to realize is that lesbians in porn, and lesbians in real life are two very different things. In porn, the "lesbians" are usually straight women who are getting paid an obscene amount of money (I should hope so) to do what they do.

On the flip side of that, real life lesbians are usually dykes who look more like men than actual men, something I've never understood.

Personally, it makes me wanna throw up, but that's just my two cents.

I thought so too but then I went to a club and saw 2 attractive women making out in the middle of the dancefloor. It was really hot.
Also, a lot of women like to watch attractive men having gay sex.

I don't know.
I'm also a straight guy who is turned on by 2 girls doing the deed, but I can't explain it.

Most 'lesbian' porn is aimed at straight guys. So yea, it's just fetishizing it.
I have an interesting story related to that point.
My best friend is a lesbian and I found out all her porn was straight porn.
So I was like "What the fuck? Are you secretly in to dicks or something?"
her reply was "You watch straight porn and you're not in to dicks."
"Touche, but there isn't one girl on girl video in this folder"
Her response, which shook my faith in porn forever was "My biggest fear is watching a woman fake an orgasm. Why would I want to see that while I'm trying to masturbate?"

Mind blown...

Girl on girl porn is one of those things that doesn't make sense on any level but we LOVE it!
