All you see is all you wanted to see from the start. That's what I tried to tell you.

But don't take my word for it, listen to all the rest of the people quoting you.

I don't hate consoles, but I do have a mild antipathy towards them since I feel their popularity damages my gaming experience on the PC. This is because any game that is not a PC exclusive is designed with the limitations of consoles in mind so they can be easily released on console as well as PC. For example, Dragon Age wouldn't have needed to be a series of relatively small areas separated by loading screens were it not for the need to fit each area into the smaller memory footprint of a console.

This also means complex control schemes are ruled out, since input on a console is more limited. Console control schemes also do not translate well over to the PC, so unless a company is willing to put in the time and money to rework the controls for the PC release of a game that was written first for a console we PC gamers end up with a clunky, frustrating interface. Dead Space is a good example here.

Finally, textures and models often end up much simpler than they could have been, again due to keeping within the limitations of a console. So my PC games often end up less pretty than they could have been.

Not many younger kids play Xbox Live or PSN as most people would think.

This reminds me of the whole "Only loud obnoxious brats play CoD!". That is a false generalization. You do get the occasional annoying little kid, but that is VERY easily fixed by a Mute button.
And not many PC gamers are elitist pricks as you would think.

This reminds me of the whole "every PC gamer is a rich asshole and has a $2500 rig". That is a false generalization. Yes some people go that route, but most just spend around $400 on parts and build it themselves, then use that for a few years. I myself spend $350 on mine, and its been working just fine for the past 3 years.

PC gamers that get a hate-on about console gamers are a minority. An extremely vocal minority, but a minority nonetheless.

I beleieve that most PC gamers are like myself; we own a PC/Mac,and also at least one console. We play on these platforms, but are invariably drawn back to the computer platform because it has a wider variety of games (and even an exclusive genre,RTS.) and you're free to mod most games. Also,if you own a PC,you can easily, and cheaply, modify the system to improve performance.
Consoles, although they have weaker systems, are smaller, and cheaper, and more accessible than a full blown computer.
Oh thank god SOMEONE has reason :)

Sure, thats the easy way to do it..
My solution for it was to buy a PC where i dont have to mute people that screams like little girls or plays shitty music... The only PC game i can think of where you occasionallly run into these types of people is Counter-Strike.. And that hasnt been fun for ages..

But theres no reason to discuss this, as it was only a minor reason to why i dont like consoles...

If you consider that a "slur" or any form of offensive comment, then you must be very easily offended.

Most console gamers would disagree with your statement. But not I. I choose to be reasonable instead of making my self look like an ass.
So most console gamers make themselves look like an ass, do they? You're really not winning any friends.
You are really blowing things out of proportion from what they really are.

Some, maybe most console gamers or PC gamers would come in with their torches lit and pitch forks sharpened. Thus starting a bunch of worthless jibberish and making them selves look like a fool, or an ass.

I chose to be reasonable and not flame/or trash on my post.

Use a muscle to press the mute button that takes one second.... Or spend a couple grand just so you don't have to mute them. That is what your post just sounded like.

I wanted to see nothing more than a intelligent discussion on the matter of which i speak. There was no intentions of an all out flame debate.

Like i said, that is left to the users on this forum.

Usually in most threads you come across, full of PC gamers (fanboys, if you will) and Console gamers, it always turns into a gigantic flame war on what is better.

One thing that i always did notice is that the PC gamers are usually the ones to start the whole war. It almost seems like they get enjoyment out of starting pointless arguments and debates. Big deal, you paid nearly 1 grand, maybe more just so you can game with a mouse and a keyboard. Paying more for your gaming situation gives you no excuse to talk down on people who pay less for their gaming set ups (I.e console gamers).

I also see no legitimate reasons being stated as to why they hate console gaming. They just start bringing up the whole "Specs vs Specs" debate, and never state factual statements on why they hate/dislike consoles/console gamers.

Why can't you enjoy both? I'm a console gamer/ex PC gamer, but i enjoyed both without bad mouthing on or the other.

I respect both console and PC gamers highly, and i honestly don't see why there always has to be a pointless argument over which is better.

Both platforms have pros and cons, along with excellent games. Some fantastic games are on the PC which are not cross-platform. Some Fantastic games are on the console which are also exclusive.

Thanks for reading, and i hope you do respect this post as a form of ones opinion.
I used to be a PC gamer before I moved to console. Before that, I was really into the arcade scene. Man, do I seem to always bet on the wrong horse... Made the switch because few, if any, games were coming out on PC that I really wanted. And most of the ones that did came out on console anyways. And the console cost a fraction of the price.

Well, anyways. Why so defensive? I can always imagine that it can't be nice to see the part of the market you "threw in with" being marginalized. Not "killed". Marginalized. There's a massive difference there. I would know, I was involved in two parts of the gaming hobby that got marginalized (one of them is pretty much dead now in north america, too!)

How weird, as someone who's part of several large PC gaming communities, i've never ONCE encountered anti-console centement. It's almost as if any sane person would realise they're about as similar as Handheld Consoles and Home Consoles!

That is a lie.

That's LESS of a flame inciting sentence than

I think mr. "I want a flame war" is not only missing the point, but hanging out in the wrong places.
The truth is, the PC is universally a better gaming platform. The sad truth is, not many people know this. (Oh yes, it has been shown that a console gamer Vs. a PC gamer will have no chance at similar skill levels in multi-platform Vs.) In theory, the console could be wonderful due to programmers being able to streamline their games to the console and take loading times down to next to nothing, etc. They don't do this, however. With strict schedules and the desire to keep pumping out new crap for the consoles, game quality has gone down over the years. Multi-platform pieces - the most profitable games - are constantly being made stupider for the console market. PC gaming is actually being harmed by consoles being made out to be the stupid-person system. I and my husband own consoles. We like them. But most of our games are in cartridge format and bought from classic gaming stores. There hasn't been much new stuff of any quality in gaming-generations. I didn't say nothing - I said not much. The industry has become a giant "churn out as much as possible" machine. I'm looking at you, EA sports, among others (every FPS maker *cough*). Oh, and now many publishers are attempting to charge the same amount for PC games as console games - despite having no console creator to pay royalties to on this platform.
PC gamers don't hate consoles. What PC gamers hate is what the industry has done with them, along with the FPS people who seem to think they're 1337. There's more of them in consoles than PCs. They're all disliked. Unless they're getting paid for what they do, at which point they become gold.

One more before i leave:

You said PC communities, right? Thats your problem. Of course there would be no debate or bashing, because it is full of PC gamers, not a mix of everything.

I don't understand, don't most people play games on both? I know I do. I will say one thing, I enjoy shooters on console games more because you can't really use zomg aimbots, wallhax, etc on a console. At least you know no one is cheating.

That being said, moddable games are WAY better on PC (I'm looking at you Oblivion). And if Warcraft 3 were a console game no one would've played it after the first 2 years (I still play DotA on it).
Moddability... I'm still playing games from 2001-5.
It's like free DLC
Yea, and I think its something developers are trying to push out of gaming. Which is why the emphasis on consoles is getting more important. They're trying to release a sequel every year or every other year, if you release a game that has high moddability people will still be playing the original and not buying the new game.

That being said I've probably bought WC3 3 times since I've lost the disks more than once.

Personally I don't care one way or the other, being a past owner of many many consoles and currently enjoying both PC and PS3.

However, one gripe I have is that the current gen of consoles has outdated hardware, and so many multiplatform games get limited by this that my PC pretty much idles when gaming in such games (for example, Transformers: WfC). When I play a PC exclusive or at least a game that has added eye candy on PC, oh man it looks so much better. I game on PC not for mouse and keyboard (tho generally I do prefer it) but for the added capabilities of my system. High res (1080p) with 4xAA, 16xAF, ultra high graphic settings = *drool*

Also, mods. Mods are great.

Seriously, Metro 2033 was probably the last newish game that actually stressed the PC, and man it looked gooooooooood.

But yeah, consoles are fine for what they are. Been playing some GT5 lately, it's fun. Although not perfect, I prefer Codemaster racing games I think, F1 2010 has better racing but the career is more boring because no upgrades or new cars (just new teams to join). I still think GRID was one of the best racers of all time... /offtopic
