Why are MOST PC gamers full of so much hatred towards Consoles?

Hatred towards consoles? What is this, I don't even...

Some games play better on consoles (Action Games(God of War, etc...), RPGs, Fighters)
Some games player better on PC (RTS, FPS, Third-Person Shooters)

Also, whoever spends $2500 on a PC is a moron (Or bought something from Alienware). I only spent $800 on this one, and it will be able to run games on High settings for a few years. And if not, I can upgrade. And I will probably still buy the next console from... well I don't know that yet, but whichever one looks better.

I've found that PC gamers like to use the price of console games in their argument whilst claiming how awesome valve is.(what is it with Valve, their games are mediocre at best)

Personally I like consoles better because the standard version of the console can play all the games, unlike computers which require certain specs.
Just putting it out there but Valve isn't even a PC exclusive company anymore. In fact, their MO as of late seems to be porting every game they've ever made onto at least one console.I bought left 4 Dead for $10 for the 360. Once I play this game, I'll have played all but one Valve game. Here's hoping it doesn't suck like the rest.

Also, try to avoid saying anything less than glowingly positive about Valve (or Blizzard) in front of PC gamers. PC gamers are notorious for vicious fanboyism of these two companies. Give 'em a break, this is all they've really got left.

PC's have Mods, if consoles would upload 4 free mods, then i'd stick more with consoles (i own a couple of ps3's) but still nothing beats the PC, since it has infinite possibilities.

Ironic that you are starting a flame war. anywho, in my opinion, both pc's and consoles are valid. while i think pcs are better suited for most genres (rpg, fps, rts, puzzle, indie) consoles are very good for others (racing) and do most other genres well (except for rts.god they suck at rts).

consoles also have very good exclusives that pcs just dont. sure, we got arma... wait... is that a point for us? not to me. i hate that game.

also, there are far many more flame wars between xbox and ps3. fact is. people are idiots. they spend an assload of money on one platform and then to validate thier purpose they have to put other people down. now. all you console idiots need to shut up. im going to play the best multiplayer game ever - counter strike - on a true platform - pc

Consoles are conisdered to be holding gaming back since the mass of casuals will just buy anything thats advertised well and thus people aren't doing anything new because they can make millions by churning out a generic FPS every year.

Most don't, although:

"and never state factual statements on why they hate/dislike consoles/console gamers."

Plenty of them give statements on why they dislike consoles.

I love my PC and don't own a console but that's only because I'm cheap. I love console gaming in its own right (I actually bought Xbox 360 Paddles for my PC to ease gameplay in several games) but I need my PC for other things. I, too, cannot understand why flame wars erupt. It just seems self indulgent and rude.

You're right. Because clearly codblops didn't perform well on PC. Nope. Only console gamers buy generic FPS. *Eye roll*

And of course, lets just ignore all the Console gamers who start these flame wars 90% of the time.

Im not even going to discuss this, it isnt worth the effort.

Consoles have simply made gaming more accessible and mainstream.
Translation: Increased the amount of money going into developers and publishers pockets, therefore increasing the quality of games with each passing year.
Fixed for you. You can thank me later.
Wow. Flawed logic. More money made does not make a better game. I can make millions selling a product but that doesn't mean i spend more money on the next product. The cheaper it is, the better it is for me. Companies don't get oodles of money on one project to spend it all on "their dream".
Explain to me then why the quality of games keeps getting higher.

Same reason people get mad if you don't use the search bar before you make a forum post; they don't have anything better to do.

Being a PC/multi-console gamer (mind you I didn't spend a lot on my PC. It can't play all the new shiney games, but it allows me to play the games I want to play) I don't see what the big fuss is.

Personally, I think PC FanBoys are the PC gamers that invested all their money in a PC, are the self-described "hard-core" gamers, or their mommies only bought them a PC, Just like *insert console here* FanBoys are the amers that invested all their money in a console, are the self-described "hard-core" gamers, or their mommies only bought them a console.

Also keep in mind, fanboys tend to be the loud vocal minority.

Also, what's wrong with video games becoming mainstream? I am getting pretty sick of the whole video games cause violence argument. Let it become mainstream so the conservatives can find something else to do their political grandstanding on.

Actually, as a PC gamer, I'd like to take this opportunity to represent those among PC gamers who recognise what an average developer Valve is. They haven't produced a decent FPS since the original Half Life, and that's not a classic because it's not any good by the standards of today.

Steam is an invasive, fat, clunky, buggy, unwelcome squatter of an experience. The prices are ludicrous, and I resent not being able to access CD installed games like Dark Messiah without first starting up Steam. I have it installed for Dawn of War, nothing else. (£30 for Chaos Rising or £16 at Play.com on release day? What a tough decision!)

However, to say that Valve and Blizzard are all we have left is a bit vicious-console-fanboy of you. You're overlooking Stardock and Arenanet among others; on PC this year, I have to find money for Tera Online, Guild Wars 2, W40K Online, The Witcher 2, the first Civ5 expansion and Shogun 2. None of these games are coming to console and none of those games are being developed by Blizzard or Valve. Heart of the Swarm is Blizzard, but I don't mention that because I reckon that'll be a 2012 release.

wow, your description of a PC gamer sounds just like me :/. I don't hide the fact that I much prefer my PC (and by the way, i didn't spend a grand on my PC). I think the main reason to start said war is because most people use consoles, so by saying how much I prefer my PC is like playing devil's advocate. Its also an argument that is kind of hard to lose as lots of console gamers accept that too. Also the PC community isn't littered with 10 year old teabaggers. Its not really fair what I say, and after writing all this I realise this makes me sound like a major douche.

The discussion of skill and auto-aim and head-to-head rankings are meaningless and miss the point. PC gamers feel threatened that the manufacturers are increasingly making console-only titles and that they may one day find themselves unable to play the best games out there. Sort of like being a Mac gamer in the 80's-90's.

Consoles are much more limited in every way than a PC, so it's easy to dismiss them as the "idiot-box" and the people who use them as idiots. However it's also easier for a manufacturer to limit pirating and mods, so they're increasingly going to consoles over PCs.

False generalizations bro.
You're claiming, using words like 'most/all/always/they/them', that out of millions of people that play videogames on a pc, somehow you're sure most of them act in certain ways as you described with regards to other gamers that play on consoles. This is ludicrous.

Your argument as to why this is the one and only ultimate truth about all these people is that you've seen dozens (wow!) of threads.

Insulting Valve is not a great way to make your argument, just FYI. And regardless of the quality of their games, Steam alone has done more for PC gaming in the last 6 years than anything else I can think of.
Sorry I realize that's a can of worms etc.and i'll clarify - steam is very good, low prices, good community and so on so forth. But I just don't see what is so amazing about valve games other than being generic shooters and being cheap.
