It's an affront to my manliness. Why would I watch it?

Where's Captain Planet?
Because it's good and it kicks the shit out of Captain Planet. Seriously, if you enjoyed the Powerpuff Girls or Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, you'll probably like this show too.
Foster's was McCracken's black sheep in my opinion and the Powerpuff Girls I wouldn't exactly call girly. This, however, has always had a specific demographic in mind.

I do hope you know which that is.
I don't care if My Little Pony was originally aimed at girls and neither should you. It's a good show that's pretty well written and funny. Lauren Faust said herself that she created show with the intent to make it enjoyable for kids and adults. I don't see why the fact that I have a penis should mean I shouldn't be able to enjoy it. Just watch an episode or two and see if you like. If you do, great and if you don't, that's fine too. Just don't keep yourself from doing something just because it's considered "girly." You can end up missing out on something you'd genuinely like.
I never explicitly mentioned it's bad, simply stating it's not a show meant for me.

Just saw it on knowyourmeme, it looks silly, but the animation style seems pretty nice.

To be honest it's possibly the worst thing I've ever seen.
In a world where Angelina Anaconda, Pelswick, previous MLP series, and MAD have the gall to exist, I highly doubt it.

What do you think I do? Watch kids shows all day? Hell, I rarely even watch TV, I just check out my favorite shows on DVD.

I haven't seen any of those, the only reason I've seen My Little Pony (this one) is because it seemed to have a cult following for some reason and I wanted to see why.
If the nadir of your very sparse viewing habits is Friendship is Magic, I hold an endless amount of envy for you.

I haven't watched any of the above series I listed in full, but I have seen a few episodes here and there and was disgusted. Until I watched Pelswick, I have never thought to myself "Wow, what an douche. He DESERVES to be paralyzed from the waist down" about anyone, real or otherwise.

Apparently the show is really good and I guess people wanted it as their avatars.

I don't get why we need a thread for this. They are plenty of similar avatars people here use and I felt no need to ask.

A strange trend I been noticing is a large amount of Avatar's from the New My Little Pony series. All I know about the new series is that the animation looks like the animation from "Panty and Stocking" (view that information however you wish). I heard at least one "the show is surprisingly good" and some of the avatar's I have seen are being used ironically (got a chuckle out of who ever had the "Resistance is Futile" avatar) but most of them are used pretty much with a straight face. I have not watched the show (nor do I even know what channel or when it on) so it might have a good deal of hidden adult humor ala Animaniacs, but the target audience of my little pony's has always been the complete opposite then the general people that come to the escapist.

So, those that have the avatars, can you explain to me why you have chosen it, and to those that have not can you provide speculation?
It's a new meme. Everyone on the internet is pretending to be into the show for ironic reasons.
Tsk tsk. Such cynicism, bro. Have you forgotten how to laugh and love the way you could when you were a child?

Because *gasp* it's actually a good show.

I watched it as part of a "Lol, I'm watching My Little Pony". But then it turned into "Oh my god I'm loving this".

I'm definitely going to have to watch it sometime. Could be a case of it's so bad it's good?
If you're talking about MLP, even if it's not for you, you can at least appreciate and respect what it's trying to do for girl's cartoons by making it entertaining with a cast of likable characters who are saved from being Mary Sues countless times, subtle (albeit unnecessary and at times unintentional) animation nuances, and clever humor akin to that of Foster's. The premiere are two of the most misleading episodes about the show since it's thrown out the window from there on out, and since the series is non-episodic you won't miss much by skipping around.

Applebuck Season, Griffon the Brush Off, Dragonshy, Bridle Gossip, Swarm of the Century, and Feeling Pinkie Keen are the best episodes to sample. They are effective at laying down what the type of characters the main six are and how they interact and bounce off each other, along with being the favorites of the community and the staff themselves. It also gives you a feel for six different writers and their style of humor, story-telling style, and flow.

If you're not impressed with three or more of these episodes, the series is not for you. If you got through all six and are interested in watching more, wiki the rest of the episodes and look them up on youtube or megaupload/mediafire, since Hasbro said it was okay to upload and share because they are bros and considering it free advertising fom the show, toys, and their new channel.

Also, the internet likes nothing ironically, except for Mahmoud Awad.

Pelswick is very mixed amongst people. There are some who like the humor and the jerkass characters, while others (such as myself) have a deep disdain for it. It's not a show that overclocks being bad until it is good, but rather a matter of tastes because of the humor being cynical and black, which is what the creator's past works were known for.

If you want something that is made to be "ironically" bad, Problem Solvers is up your alley and is going to be on Cartoon Network in the near future. I have seen the promo on the show on youtube and I thought that it was shit. There's also Tom Goes to the Mayor, but I hate that too.

I watched five minutes of the first episode linked and turned it off. I didn't laugh once. There's worse shows sure, but I don't see what all the halabaloo is about. If someone could link me to a clip proving other wise, please do. I'd love to be wrong.

I'll stick to Penguins of Madagascar when I need my cartoon fix, thanks.
