Ok there's a good chance that >90% (see geeks use percentages) of the posters here are 'gamer geeks' a niche group of geeks that enjoy videogames and probably adept or at least comfortable with technology, pop culture references and other geeky stuff.

But people are complicated and have diverse personalities and lives.

So what do you do in your non-geek time that makes you different? Do you Muay Thai, volunteer, own your own business, have an awesome social life, travel around the world?

Share with your fellow escapists on the diversity of geek life.

I travel a lot when possible. Go to the gym, play sports, have fun relationships with the opposite sex. Errrm... I can't think of much else really. I do all the typical geeky things, gaming, MMORPG-ing and whatnot.

I don't think that there is a set "geekhood" thing tbh. I think it's more a frame of mind and how others perceive it. People at my school know I'm a ridiculously huge nerd, but nobody actually cares anymore. It's one of the reason I love my 6th form at school :D

I hit the gym a lot when i'm not glued to a computer. I also do landscape photography and sketch.

The latter two i've not had chance to do for some time...

I have lots of friends (many of them girls, *gasp*), go to plenty of gigs, go to the gym, plenty of parties. And I'm not getting A's in every subject.

Other than that I'm a serious geek though XD

I go clubbing, I like the kind of music that geeks really don't, love to dance, love to go out with friends, love to experience new things, try to be sociable when I can (but often enjoy my solitude as well), I'm not academically intelligent, I would rather gouge my own eyes out than play any kind of tabletop game, I'm not awkward talking to girls (actually almost all of my friends are girls), I think the Star Wars and LOTR movies are fucking boring, I'm rather vain and metrosexual (I suppose); the list goes on.

To be honest my only real geeky qualities are my love for video games and the internet, and how I understand meme's and the occasional geeky reference.

I'm a decently social person, and I also go to the gym. I have female friends, and generally, when invited to go do something outside, I often gladly do.

I am a geek, I do not deny my geekdom. Fortunatly, I have a great girlfriend and don't appear to be a geek until I open my mouth... or I'm wearing my "guns don't kill people, magic missiles do" t-shirt.

Geek and proud of it. I love maths, science, gaming, and chess. Also train heaps, am 6ft and 100kgs and have played a lot of rugby (fairly seriously at times, though I retired this year). Taken up boxing now for training but still trying to convince my wife to let me get in the ring. Violent sport is awesome.

I study Industrial Design Engineering, the most non-geek study at my university. That's about all, I guess... I love being a geek. Oh, and I've always hated Magic the Gathering with a passion. Does that count?

I don't Know I am quite a Loner But have decent social skills.
I don't like sports but that doesn't mean I don't like riding my bike or take a walk.
I Love video games but I don't care that much about technology.
Maybe I'm a geek but what the hell isn't a geek just a techno jock :p

Well, I'm 15, I post here, achieve well in school, play video games, read and am subscribed to the National Geographic. I also box twice a week, am accomplished in judo and go out with my friends often. I am also quite popular.

I exercise; I dress well; I have social skills; I love real boobies - not in-game ones.

I also like Star Wars, game a lot (obviously), have a huge nerd-on for Lost and WRPGs, and I game on a PC which, let's face it, is more nerdy than gaming on a console. I'm also interested in PC hardware, hence the use of the PC.

I just don't tell my friends too much about the second paragraph.
