I really don't know how to "classify" myself, but I guess I'm a bit geeky. but I also enjoy drawing, writing, reading and swimming. Oh and I'm also a swimming instructor for 5-7 year olds.
This is starting to look like a "lonely hearts" personal ad...

EDIT: and I think a lot, I like just sitting and thinking, about life, the universe, the strange things in our reality that we just accept. what an alien would think when it saw our society...
(ok, so I am geeky... so what?)

Oh wow.
Well.. I spend most of my work day on the internet, involved with games and websites..
When I go home, I play games, talk about games..

Lately, the only two non-geek things I do are learning to drive, and going to the gym three times a week >.<

My non-geek time. I assume reading counts as geekiness? Well, at the mo I do my uni work and go out drinking with my friends, rehearse for a few plays and hit the gym if my current level of self-esteem is low enough.

I follow the ARL and Cricket, which impresses the rest of my sports-obsessed family. I'm really the odd one out.

Geeks are comfortable with themselves. It's a type of couter-culture. I, on the other hand, am a misfit.

In this thread; People come up with loads of extreme lies to pretend they have any sort of 'life'

If I hate one thing more than people who pick on geeks, it's geeks in denial.

I train in mixed martial arts (specifically Boxing, Muay Thai, and Brazilian Jiujitsu) 6 days a week, only missing training when I'm sick, injured, on vacation, or going rock climbing indoors, which I do once a month.

And when the weather's warm, I like to go out and go running.

I am a geek. I play games, read books, stay home and cook instead of going clubbing with my friends...which I don't have many of. I'm in a rock band...but that's kinda geeky too really.

I don't get this thread really. Everyone here is a geek, why? Because you're all on an online forum making weak excuses why you aren't a 'geek'. Maybe its just me but I don't see a problem with being a geek anymore, maybe in America where all their highschool dramas are about jocks fighting geeks but we don't have that problem where I live. I go to Star Wars Conventions, collect models, play games a lot, talk on forums but I also play rugby (having toured New Zealand with my team), go to the gym several times a week, have had a girlfriend and drink with friends at the weekend. So yeh, everyone has nerdy aspects but everyone has 'normal' aspects, just don't get why people have to label themselves.

Did anyone else think the title said "Why are you not a Greek"? Here I was, ready to discuss my Italian heritage on the internet...

I think i am a "geek" when it comes to having a vast gaming knowledge and always keeping up to date with the industry and playing as many games as i can. Also i am quite intelligent but i am also captain of the football team, i play cricket and i go to the gym. I also have a great relationship with a great amazing looking girl and i don't dress at all like a geek.

I think you have with the gaming industry is a whole spectrum of different people, obviously most people on here are hardcore gamers, otherwise they wouldn't be here. But this doesn't mean most of them are geeks.

Non-'geeky' things that take up my time are drinking with friends, going to see live bands, writing. I enjoy walking, cooking and a whole range of other things I can't be bothered to list.
But I spend a lot of time gaming and on the internet, a fan of LotR and Star Wars. Plus, I post here. Some people would call me a geek and I guess that's true to a degree.
Am I hung up over labels? Not really...
