Why are you not a member of the Publishers Club?

I stick around for the company, the discussions. I don't feel obliged to pay for being... around people.

Besides, I dislike the way no ads are offered as a "feature". It acknowledges that ads are annoying, and asks for money in order to let me not see it. HD videos do not appeal to me either- I don't have a craving to see ZP in hi-def.

I like the Escapist, but if I were going to support something with my money, there are much more worthwhile organizations I would donate to. No hard feelings.

I really only watch Zero Punctuation, and HD flash animation really isn't anything to get excited over. So that leaves no-ads, but I'm not willing to pay to avoid the one advertisement I get at the beginning of each ZP episode.

Basically, I would get nothing out of it.

And the whole "PubClub Private Forums" bug me.
I find most/all people on the internet, and especially in this forum, to be assholes. (In their own way, even if they rarely show it.)
I, also, am an asshole.

I don't see the point in exclusivity when all I'll be around are assholes.. with money.
Get insulted by assholes.. with money.
Be Grammar/Spelling Nazi'ed by assholes.. with money.
And have my opinion tore down and thrown in my face by assholes.. with money.

The ads (particularly the ones of late for slim-jim monster sticks) make me laugh and I, too, am too poor to even afford the 20$ a year sub fee.

I've always wondered this since I noticed most of the escapist is not members, and always wondered why. For a whole years membership there not asking for alot of money and just the HD Video's and No Ads make it rather worth it in and of itself.

So I put it to you my Non Pub Club Escapist Comrades! Why are you not a member and what would make you want to be a member?

I always found "it's not that expensive" to be a pretty poor reason. I'm fine with the Escapist as-is. I don't need HD videos and I can live with ads.

And while I wouldn't mind the custom tag, that in itself isn't worth ten bucks.

True but my personal reason for joining as also becuase I wanted to support The Escapist, With more money they could expand maybe get some more shows hell even run a few popular game servers.

Because I don't think ZP would be improved by increased resolution.

I'm not paying for that.

Haven't got around to it yet, and, well, eh. I personally love The Escapist, great community and whatnot, some nifty videos that I look forward to at least half the week, but I don't really feel like I should really bother for a slightly bigger avatar and a private forum that I doubt gets used.
