Well I grew up as a Nintendo gamer. PCs don't have Zelda (except emulators). I play some games on my computer, but I have a Macbook (I need a laptop for personal and professional reasons). I play somewhat older games like Knights of the Old Republic from time to time on mine.
Why didn't I get a gaming PC instead of the 360 and PS3? Honestly, I didn't even know the PC was a serious gaming platform until 2008 or so. How could I not know that, having grown up a gamer (and being 23 right now)? None of my friends (from childhood through college and until now) ever played games on their computers. The PC isn't really advertised as a gaming platform outside of magazines and websites for people who already know that information (I've never seen a PC game advertised on TV, for example. Aside from World of Warcraft, that is).
Maybe I'll build a gaming PC next generation. Though I'd need tons of help with that, as I'm an idiot with technology.
