Why did you join the Escapist?

So why did you first start going on the Escapist and why did you create your account.
In my case I got hooked on zero punctuation and started lurking on the forums. At one point I just decided to make an account.

I just find so much interesting and crazy (usually both) stuff on these forums, so I stay because it's fun!

I just remembered that Yahtzee didn't bring me here, when The Escapist was hacked I came out of curiousity.

I stayed for Yahtzee though.

A long while ago, there was a very angry Gamestop employee who used Yahtzee's video style to rant about Gamestop on Youtube.
He got a lot of flack for it, so just out of curiosity, I decided to check out the videos he was supposedly "ripping off".

So yeah, it was ZP that got me into the Escapist.

I wandered upon Zero Punctuation on the YouTubes and managed to find the Escapist. I lurked for a long time, without an account, just reading the most controversial posts. This lasted a year or so.Then I created an account and it was another month or two before I became really active.

When Zero Punctuation did his Halo 3 review, which was over 5 years ago now. Kind of amazing. I made an account, but never got onto the forums really. I finally did make an account because there was a topic that I could answer, so I did.

I lurked for a bit, then saw a thread that was in dire need of my utter brilliance. However, while registering my account, I forgot what I was going to say and which thread I was going to say it in. It's a shame, I'm sure the post would have created world peace, solved the energy crisis, or something.

Because i'm a gamer but i live in an area that doesn't have much interest in gaming at all. So when i stumbled onto the site from a News article link from Gamepolitics i was overjoyed, it lets me discuss gaming and such with other people. Since then i've gotten into roleplaying (though i never have enough time for the RP section anymore) so i just never left.

This is the only forum i frequent and the only gaming news source i use as well. I spend most of my time lurking but occasionally i comment.

Well I was introduced to this site via a friend who follow Unforgotten Realms and Zero Punctuation so I started watching those. Then I found a few other shows and also reads in the forums some. Then I made my own account about 2.5 years ago when there was a thread about quitting WoW and I thought I could contribute to that... Then my posting started, slowly but surely.

Years ago I stumbled across Yahtzee and Zero Punctuation, like many people apparently, and have been absorbing most of the content The Escapist produces ever since. Been lurking around here for probably 4 years now. Had one account, never got in to the forums. Forgot what that account was didn't care enough to figure it out, created this one, and found myself drawn to the forums.

I'm liking lurking the forums now because I enjoy discussing and trading opinions on games with other people who seem to be passionate about it.

Oh, and dick jokes. Definitely the dick jokes.
