I play consels because I LIKE them.I hate mods.Mods just ruin a good game by making it a unfair game for players. And for the players, thats all i need.the maps are more fast paced because they are desighned to only hold 16-20 people making it so your not always looking for people.

Also, the prices for online is resonably good.We get free updates, addons not costing as much, and a kickass online play.and because it is P2P,i dont need to worry about modding, unlike TF2 360 online(stop making turrets fly for god sakes!).

Bottom line is,if you dont like what consel players like, stop playing them and go back to your modding and unfair games that srew you every five second and stop critising it because you just dont like it.
Wow, just... Wow.
I can't tell if you're trolling or if you're really just that ignorant.
HACKS/EXPLOITS != MODS
I know console hackers try to justify their actions by calling it modding. They're just hurting everyone.

Flying turrets? That's an exploit. Try an exploit like that on a server and you'll get banned. There's no way to do that with a P2P system.

This is a mod: http://www.moddb.com/mods/first-strike
People playing in this mod are kept completely separate from the vanilla players. There is no way for someone in this mod to influence people playing regular 2142.

For TF2, if you want to play regular TF2, you join a regular server. If you want to play with mods, you join a modded server! It tells you whether they have mods or not in the server browser! Mods are almost never used for cheating. They're things like adding grenades, birthday mode, new game modes, new maps, etc. They're just there to expand the game to make it more fun. If you don't like the mods the server is running, join a different server.

On the PC, we get free updates, (Wow, free patches. I can't believe it.) free addons, (How can something cost less than free?) and better, free online play thanks to dedicated servers. Oh, we also have the benefit of modding.

Edit: Sorry, but this post seems to have devolved into a petty fanboyish rant. I... just... I just couldn't help myself when faced with a post like that.

Because unlike PC gamers, we're not greedy twats who want everything our way, all the time?

/stereotypical (but not completely untrue) response

1: Lag is not that bad on P2P, no matter how much antecdotal evidence is presented. As a matter of fact, lag is generally the same across both systems - its just that servers can handle it slightly better. Consoles however, use P2P more often for several reasons:

-It helps control modding, cheating and pirating
-It is easier to use on consoles
-It costs WAAAAAAAAAAAY less than servers do. Even the richest companies would be utterly crushed under the burden of trying to provide servers for games for consoles, which almost always have an expotenially higher user base than PC games do, which means an expotenially higher cost.

2: The maximum is not 9v9. There any many games that go far above this limit, like Frontlines and Section 8, not to mention the Battlefield games. However, 8v8/9v9 is generally the accepted good preformance limit of both the P2P, and what most developers design their game for. Games like CoD44, MW2, Halo 3, Gears etc. are simply not designed for that many players, both gameplay-wise and map-wise.

Also, 32v32 isn't standard on PC, save for Battlefield games. Many games you have to mod or tinker with get above 12v12 or 16v16.

3: Our services are not poor. For our $50 a year, XBL users get consistant and accurate stats-tracking across all games, large community events, reliable (fairly) customer service, maintance and anti-cheating protection, and pretty decent game content as well (much of it at a reduced price as compared to if it were a normal digital download or in-store purchase), and unlimited online gameplay for any game, with few exceptions (Phantasy Star Universe). All this for less than the price of one new game per year? Not even WoW can claim that. Pc gamers can't, because most of it is self-regulated - you might get it, but it relies on players to make it happen.

4: All I see are some butt-hurt PC gamers due to the fact that IW tried to level the playing field for all their customers. I didn't say it worked, but I can't blame them for trying either. Because when you strip away all the fluff and chest-thumping and yelling, PC doesn't really stand out well...in anything. and treating them like they're special is a poor business choice, especially since you stopped being profitable a long time ago.
What this guy said. Like he pretty much nailed it. And Im not sure if he mentioned it but through the PC theres not an atmosphere like the Xbox live market place and I dont feel ashamed for playing in my underwear on XBL (as much)

I think you idiots are forgetting about a little thing called demographics. Who do you think is the majority players of xbox live? The answer, young high school and college boys, the majority of them in it for the basic fun and do not worry to much about getting the most advanced system. If you go around my dorm and ask to play MW2 or any game you would see on a console on a PC most of the people here will laugh at you. I counted one day and on my side of the floor in my dorm, out of 36 rooms, 35 owned consoles. 29 were xbox 360's, 3 were PS3's, 3 were both.

I agree, as long as you have fun, why make an issue out of it?
Personally I barely experience lag and I have never thought to my self 'gee, this game would be SO much better if there were another 24 guys I could shoot in the face.' 9 vs 9 is large enough for me, the only thing that would make 32 vs 32 matches worth the trouble is clan matches, but since I have yet to encounter a game I consider good enough to join a clan, I don't care about clan matches.
Well you don't understand the issue and other peoples concerns. And because of these changes, a lot of other people will experience more lag because there are no different options. Also have you ever thought 'gee, maybe other people would like it if they could play with more people. 9 vs 9 isn't big enough for everyone and some people would like MW2 enough to start making clans.

See, only thinking of yourself. When ever issues like this come up I always think what games should have to improve the experience for EVERYONE! Because I care for other people, I can actually understand why IW are being pricks by stripping away features people find very useful and fun! I can see how this may result in other developers in becoming greedy and lazy by doing the same thing!

Basically Quad08 is unintentionally saying "I don't understand what is going on but why can't PC gamers enjoy it anyway because I do, even though I have no idea what the fuck is going on! They must be all stupid to just ditch this game and I couldn't care about the issue anyway because I don't care about anyone else. So I am just going to leave this ignorant post out to annoy everyone."

This is why console gamers don't get along with PC gamers. Although the user base is more intelligent, they just mostly mock, complain, and boycott. I love my 360, it failed me once but my PC has failed me a lot more. 9v9 is perfectly fine with me, I hate giant clusterfuck games. I honestly think Xbox Live gives me great service for only $50 a year, that's pennies a day. I can download movies, trailers, game demos, etc without leaving my couch. I probably wouldn't ever use my computer if it wasn't for web browsing or Garry's Mod/Team Fortress 2. I also get tired of upgrading my hardware. I used to be a PC gamer and I spent much more money on new hardware than games. So I was just finished with it.

Also, everyone disagrees with me completely.

PC seems to enjoy the luxury of having SOOOOOOOOOOO many more people allowed in on the map. I never thought about the fact that there's actually no reason at all that microsoft won't let us play with more than 18 people on the 360.

I just got myself an aaawwwwwwwwwesome new PC, so i guess i'll be spending a little less time on my 360 and PS3 now that i have a computer that can actually play games ;)

I agree with he who says that a good gaming PC would cost more than both the consoles combined. IT DOES. it cost me way more than my 360 and my PS3 combined. There are many many pros and cons.

Hey, it all comes down to what you WANT to do with your money and time. do you WANT to spend heaps of money on an ultimate gaming PC and have free access to the interwebz and 32-player multiplayer, or do you WANT to save a couple of thousand dollars and pay $200 for a (quite limited) console and 80 bucks a year for an Xbox live subscription, and sacrifice that extra ability to be able to shoot more guys at once?
When you look at it that way, you're paying like, 2 grand to be able to play with an extra 12 people.

18 people... 80 bucks a year (or free on PS3)
32 people... $2000 gaming PC (rough estimate) plus hundreds of $$'s on upgrades whenever hardware gets out of date...
In my opinion if you can afford the PC you may as well get it. I find PC gaming to be simply better than their console counter parts, though I realize not everyone has the money to burn. If I could afford an 8 series BMW I would get it over a Ford Focus any day.

When I was in first year and lived in Residence (in 2005) out of 80 people in the residence TWO had an xbox and about 3/4th of them had gaming PCs. The school even provided dedicated servers on campus for the more popular FPS games. My school is known for computer science though ;)

Ah, my school is known for nursing, kinesiology, and athletic sciences. We are mainly jockesh people who party and drink a lot.(I am one to an extent) I still hold to believe most college age kids such as myself own mostly consoles.

Well, I'd prefer a computer but my computer sucks and can't play anything past Starcraft (I fucking wish I was kidding v.v) I don't have an Xbox, and I'm not sure if I'd want one simply because the retard ratio in XBL is higher. (Though, Xbox Live also has more people, so it only makes sense they'll have more morons thrown in.)

I own a PS3, the online support is obviously worse then XBOX but that's kind've expected. And downloading anything on live is a lot easier then PS3. (oh, and Xbox is a lot more user friendly.)

I'd probably say PC is best simply because of the orgasmic mods you can download and the numerous extra features that always lurk in the PC versions. Oh, and I suppose I can throw in the fact that to play most online games for PC you don't have to pay monthly, yearly, whatever the hell Xbox live is.

Besides, I like real time strategy.

Superior controls? What? Sorry, but mouse/keyboard is better than controller for everything except perhaps sports and racing games (which I don't even play). More precise, more buttons to bind to different things, just generally better.

And yes, yes I could if I wished. Hook my PC up to my TV and bring over my mouse and keyboard, and bam, I'm playing Assassin's Creed on my couch.

because:
my computer is shit
PSN is free
the P2P works for me, probably only about 1 in about 20 or so games are noticably affected by the lag or disconnections, and that's on Aussie internet

Even then I have a wired 360 controller. Plugs into my 360 and it plugs into my PC. Even if you hate mouse and keyboard you can just jam in any ol' USB enabled peripheral to the PC and use it.

I actually DO plug my PC into my TV sometimes. It's fun.

if you dont know then why not GOOGLE? what makes it worse is that you exaggerate to the point of blasphemy. gaming PCs are 400-600$ items, not thousands of dollars.
Show me a real gaming PC for $400-600, and ill show you Yahtzee's Triple-Cunted Hooker.

By not creating an account and seeing if the computer is $400-$600 you therefore have no right to say good gaming PCs are expensive if you will not look at the info that is presented.

I have a good gaming and it was only $375.00. It has been used for 4 years to play all different types of games for a PC gaming retailer but it works fine. It can play Crysis pretty well.

I doubt you will believe me but I don't care. In the end I know what I know and own and you know what you know and own. I own a PS3, 360, and a PC so I can experience both sides of the gaming spectrum and not be biased toward another.

On a different note: I find all this fighting between PC Gamers and Console Gamers silly and immature. If each side could get over their massive egos each side would realize PC Gamers and Console Gamers are in the end all Gamers.

Yeh but if that was just the computer it doesn't count,i could say i only spent $200 on a high end computer because I build it myself with the bare parts then bought thousands of dollars worth of graphics cards, processors, ram and other shit
