Well, when I was in high school our sports teams all sucked so the "jocks" weren't really allowed to get away with anythhing like that, more often than not they were often blamed by the rest of the school for always losing, lol.

yeah I know how you feel teachers always notice you, but not the jocks and the blockheads.
I think what you need to do is make sure their are no witnesses, it sounds horrible and I know that it's the anger that provokes you to do something about it but bide your time and keep an eye out for witnesses if you're going to do something.

Not everyone has both, if you had to make a choice, which would you take?

Okay yeah this is a life story but it has a point

I've been beaten up my whole life (weather it be because I'm weird, because I'm poor, or because I'm 18 and have never had a girlfriend)

but in 7th grade (weird/poor) things went too far

the Football team would always hold me down and take turns hitting me
or pelting me with tennis and baseballs

scares bruises and black eyes everywhere

the teachers said "they're just boys being boys"

then one day at the gym, we were doing the rope climb
you climb this really tall rope, ring the bell, then fall onto this really soft cooshy pad so you don't have to climb all the way back down (the pad itself was like 4-5 feet tall, and felt like a tempurpedic bed)

well I rang the bell and slid down the rope a little (because I didn't trust them for a reason) then about half way down the rope I let go and fell for the pad

the quarterback then proceeded to pull the pad out from under me and I hit the hard-wood floor with a loud thud

everyone laughed

I then lost my temper and garroted the quarterback with the rope (wrapped it around his neck and pulled tight) yelling that he would never do that again

then things became very serious; the teacher yelled at the class to "get him off of him" and well yeah you can see where things went

in the end, I got expelled for hurting the quarterback
and when I showed the bruises, crutches, and scars and told them how I got them they said "it's one thing to harm the student body, it's another thing to make up stories to justify it"

...the principal then tried to convince me to take up something to relieve my anger such as football, or baseball, or soccer...

goes to show what a jock he was as well

off note: I ended up taking archery in boyscouts and was the only one that could bullseye every time on the 20 yard target... I was told that I shouldn't take an anger outlet that would let me kill people from 60 feet away with a sharp stick

EDIT: Crap I forgot the question; why is it that the jocks can get away with ANYTHING but the second I defend myself after being badly injured (with 33 witnesses mind you) I get in major trouble?

EDIT 2: sorry actually I wasn't "expelled" I was just "suspended" for a quarter of the year

when I got back the jocks started beating me with bricks (apparently a drunk driver hit the wall next to the church or something)

and I just ran into the office as fast as I could and the second the principal heard my voice and the phrase "law suit"

well...
we had a talk

then I was suspended for my own safety

because he didn't want me to be in an environment where I could get hurt
(you know, because punishing the victim is TOTALLY what you're supposed to do... not punish the [4] offenders!)

EDIT 3: I'm not like this anymore and this has been taken care of (got half the kids there to stop attending and shut down one of the two schools they had... which were right across the street from each other haha)

Just throwing that out there

I'm not really a violent person (yes I am I just keep it in- and blame society)
so no one think I'm a freak or anything lol

just was wondering if anyone else has things like this happen and if this is running rampent
Because life and society are both fucked up systems run by the same pieces of shit jocks that do that kind of stuff. At least in most places, at my school nothing like that happens. So just hold out man, things will get better for you in the future.

Hmmm My school watched the jocks more closely. They were very conscious of bullying and it didn't matter if you were the quarter-back. Though this might also have to deal with the fact that the football team was a joke but even the lacrosse team didn't do anything. I also think it doesn't have to deal with the teachers as well, - part of not being bullied IS to have a vast friend's network. Bullies won't bully when they piss off half the school. Hence why I was friends with half the school. Doesn't matter if your good friends, as long as you seem like a nice guy - people will tell them to snap out of it.

Also another thing is that might have prevented a lot of bullying my school was that self-defense after school classes were taught in middle school and elementary school. So more often than not, bully's would have a even match or just not be able to 'bully' effectively. Bullying is a lot more pushing around than beating the crap out of someone. If you have to constantly fight someone - they are only going to get better at it - and less of a prime target.

I have to agree - his school is a ****y school. I would have sued their butts for all the money they had and then their parents. Don't matter if your jocks or not, your gonna screwed. I would have set it up so that a cell phone or something other to record the beatings or whatever etc. Play them at their own game. If school didn't own up and fix their ****, local news always works as well, they always like a sob story. Evidence + high media = golden weapon to get attention to your situation.

If that doesn't work, there is plenty of Anti-bullying organizations who will bring a rain of fire down on that school for you.

The school may not listen to you, but they will be on their knees shortly after...

oh i had this problem when i was going to school as well,i remember this one incident when this guy and his friend were beating me...in front of a teacher that did nothing btw, anyway one of them is choking me the other is punching me in the stomach. im a strong guy,but its truly hard to get out of someone's choking grasp while getting pummeled in the stomach. i even yelled for help and got nothing from the teachers.so i was left with the choice of getting out myself...the guy that was punching me i kicked the the shin,i was lucky that he flinched from that. it allowed my the chance to wiggle free of the other guys grasp to take up a metal meter stick against them (i was lucky one of near by),the other guy fled as a wailed on the kick i kicked with the meter stick and not only broke him arm,but i also cut it wide open so it was bleeding quite heavily.at that precise moment the teaches THEN decide to intervene and restrain me,and says im to blame...so the usual happened,i got sent to the principals office and was ORDERED to apologize.i completely refused and was there the rest of the day,the next day there was of course the meeting of the parents and thanks to one of my friends being witness was able to sort out what really happened.i got away with what i did and the other 2 kids for expelled. but the best part is that not only did i get away with it and justice was served, but i also got praise from every other kid in the school. (no really,i was getting high-fives,getting cheered on for what i did. as i was just walking down that halls) this kid was like the kingpin of the school (only real accurate comparison).

so yeah, most jocks do get away with it...but only for so long, then they get whats coming to them. sometimes 100x fold! that how thing usually work out in the end. (i say usually, cause i have seen many-a-time where such a case did not have a rightful ending...)

You should have really filed a lawsuit or contacted the police about it. That is assault and school officials did nothing to stop it. As for my own view, never seen something like that happen. Jocks at my school were on lockdown if they got into a fight or had slipping grades. Our deans didn't bullshit around.

Schools crave renown since it basically means more students. How better to get renown if not by having a good sports team or an English/Maths/Physics/etc "olympic" team? I attended a sort of nationwide evaluation of English skills if you could call it that and had to go through 3 phases to get there: The schoolwide phase, the countywide phase and the nationwide phase. I passed all of them and ended up in grabbing the 9th place. Once the results came in everything changed.

Teachers would just hand me good grades and the harassment stopped. I distinctly remember the principal exempting me and other students who participated in such events from tests and quizzes. I was no longer afraid of not passing the grade because in the end, I would pass it no matter what and with good grades even without studying at all(In fact, for the entirety of 8th grade I did not study at all). This applied to every single person who brought renown to the school ranging from people in the sports team to the English, Math, and Physics nerds. If anyone picked on us the consequences were quite grave.

It was... awesome. We ruled the school. We were on top of the "world" and everyone learned to avoid picking on us. Fuck, me and a pal who was playing in the school's soccer team got caught smoking and skipping classes so many times it was insane and yet nothing happened. "Finish up and stay out of sight if you do want to smoke" were the words that always came out of the mouth of the teachers who did caught us smoking and as for skipping, they'd just turn a blind eye.

If someone got into a fight with you the outcome would be always in your favor. Was the kid in school? He'd have one hell of a year ahead of him. Was the dude not in school? He'd get his ass kicked before he even stepped inside the school grounds. This applied to bullies as well. Did you bully a kid and he complained? Nothing would happen.

Skipped a fuckload of classes? No problem! At the end of the year it was as if you skipped none. We got of scott free for anything we did.

I'm sorry, but this is how the system works. I don't like it, even if I enjoyed that year. I want equality but unfortunately that's not going to happen anytime soon and as much as I hate to say this I adapted. I did what I could to make my life easy.

Neither me nor my friend bullied anyone if you're curious. We were just happy to not have to give a crap about school. Actually, I did bully one kid. This one asshole, who made my life a living hell during 7th grade. I'd force him to buy me smokes, give me his money and he'd get regular beatings whenever he considered his fate unfair. I was no longer afraid of the consequences, the same way he wasn't afraid of them a year before.

The above is probably an example to what's happening/happened at your school. My only suggestion would be to go to the media since those guys always find a way to fuck everything up.

Nothing in this life is more frightening than being cornered by a group of teenage NEDs

But seriously its a a stereotype, there is an element of truth to it (like all stereotypes) but its mostly untrue.
a group of NEDs could easily tear an american football team limb for limb. i tend to find that NEDs can be ok as long as you dont piss them off, these american jocks just sound as though they are trying to be dominant

They are trying to be dominant (if you see my other post you will see what I mean)

As for Neds vs Jocks the Jocks have one significant advantage, more firepower.

Brain over brawn, obviously, but learning about nutrition, exercise and health in general is also quitte intellectually stimulating. With me, one thing led to the other. The concept of "arete" entails both physical and mental training (Yeah, I'm into ancient philosophy, lol).

I wonder who had the most firepower during the columbine school shootings. :p

Also, I doubt the perpetrators who did it were the actual jocks of the school.

That sucks dude. However my high school has an amazing football program (one of the best in the state) and all the jocks seemed pretty decent. I know because I played football. The school never really had problems with bullying. Maybe a name call or two once in a while, but it never got out of hand, at least from what I can remember. We had a lot of good teachers and a football coach that didn't tolerate shit such as bullying. I guess that's why things seemed pretty tame compared to many other schools.

I get why you'd consider learning about nutrition to be intelectually stimulating, but lifting weights and exercising has to be one of the most dull, repetetive and non-intellectual tasks you could spend time on if you ask me.

Whenever I exercise (I don't do it by lifting weights at a gym, but opt for the more "army style" method involving stuffing a backpack with crap until it nearl breaks your back and marching a few miles with it) I can almost feel that some of my intelligence is bsaically leaking out of my pores because it's just so incredibly stupid, repetitive and boring...

A vast majority are scared of jocks.

Seriously.

1st day of high school I got into a fight. Knocked him out cold for 10 so nothing ever happened bulling wise. Ironicly we are good friends now.
