why do modern online shooters NOT cater for stealth?

Well... the SOCOM series (although it's a TPS) did have some sort of stealth based gameplay implemented in it's multiplayer. But then again, you'd have to get lucky and be good enough to actually not be spotted by the enemies. Especially since you could look around the corner without showing yourself.

I like to see games cater for stealth a bit more.
Not a totally stealth 'em up thing just give people more options.

Things like MW2 suggest you can stealth but you really can't, not propper anyway. Sniping in that game doesn't give me the flexability to be as much of a sneaky little fucker as I sometimes wanna be.

Not just that game. But sometimes I just feel the urge to be a sneaky ninja assassin thing and I can't think of a modern game that gives me the same chance to do that as it does give the chance to be Rambo.
